But even at any price?

You'd have to assume it's gonna cost a fair bit, I mean you don't take a two-bit lawyer to the supreme court (honestly I'd be amazed if they bother to even see a case like this), so getting a decent lawyer will cost something, although as Barry mentioned if you have one on retainer (as most big business types do) it would be somewhat cheaper, but even still it's gonna cost some money.

Maybe I'm just assuming these guys aren't as rich as they actually are? maybe they have a bunch of "F**K you money" (love that term) lying around just to throw at stuff like this?

I still don't see the point though.. But then I'm on the outside looking in.

The reason why supreme court cases cost a bomb is because the lawyer will brief a barrister or even senior counsel. Could cost you $5-10,000 per day just for an appearance. Add to that the lawyers hourly rate, barristers written opinion and your bill is already running out of control. Then you need to contemplate the risk of losing and having to pay the other side's costs....

That's my point exactly, so why would anyone even bother..

You would think that it'd be cost prohibitive to anyone other than a squillionaire with money to burn, and even then it's been my experience that people with large amounts of money have fairly tight purse strings.

My guess is that it's all smoke and mirrors. Most of the time the threat of legal action is just that, a threat and nothing more.

The even crazier thing that just sprung to mind, even if they win, it only guarantees them a new election, not a spot (or spots) on the board, they would still have to get voted in, and after putting the fans and members through another mud raking exercise, that could potentially cost us Forans signature, they aren't going to be very interested in giving them a go and voting for them.

I know I wouldn't, all they will accomplish is doing further damage to the club that a) is easily avoided and b) that we really don't need.

As a point to remember, the person the person behind this cares more for his born to rule idea than the club

Funnily since the change some 6/7 years ago, the destabilisation has been ongoing, the common denominator is a dead emperor, why the heck doesn't he give the club a chance to move on. At any further elections ,the result will be the same, but that appears not important to some, it's about resuming his rightful place, pathetic

perhaps he is not paying the cash, perhaps he is backed by some one with an agenda

perhaps the article is complete bullshit

That's very interesting. A source close to the club mentioned to me today that a deposed emperor, struggling pokie machine boss aka Bruno Mars fan and a former Macquarie banker met at yum Cha recently . They all have links to the media and are all good at telling a few porkies. And have been known to drive an agenda to suit themselves.
