Thinking of the 2015 backline and Flans approach.. Lets hope he makes it explicitly clear that he has high expectations for our young talent and that they are wanted and next in line if they don't immediately get a run... Jack Bird, V Holmes, Gagan, Nu Brown are our future and Flan needs to make it clear where they fit rather than cold shoulder them...
Starting to think we might see:
1. Gordon with Holmes next in line.
2. M Brown (Holmes as immediate backup, plays wing in D but swaps with Gordon for attacking moves)
3. Feki (give him first bat with Beale - Bird as the understudy, Leutele and Bird next in line)
4. Beale
5. Gagan (give him first bat)
Giving Feki a shot at centre may well be too radical a move for Flan but it does create a spot for Gagan.
Same applies for our 7.. Robson to start but Flan needs to encourage Murphy and Nu Brown to be hot on his heels.
Perhaps Bird beats Nu Brown as a utility off the bench? Other possibility is Nu Brown pops in off the bench to give Ennis a breather but maybe this is a 2016 move...
Also, importantly the critical player for 2015 could well be Luke Lewis. So much focus on Robson, but to my mind Lewis has much much more to offer and this, pending form could well be his last year in action. He was running half assed all of last year so lets hope we see him back to his ball busting creative best. Lewis may be the factor which lifts us into the semis...
