You know Cartwright has been bought into the squad as an all rounder to help our bowlers after the last test?

Not saying it's the wrong decision, but he ain't going to bowl 20 overs in a test, let alone an innings. But he doesn't have to either. He/Smith/Warner can run a few overs between them to spell Starc & Hazlewood.
It's obvious Maddinson needs a bit more work (he should definitely go play some county cricket) and the next names off the rank would be Cartwright or Head. TBH after the ODIs I am amazed Head's name isn't getting pushed more

3 days gone, Aussies are 165 runs behind and only 2 down. Assuming the weather holds out, what are your predictions for the outcome? I think all 3 outcomes are still possible with an Aussie winthe least likely. I think a Draw is most likely.

The only way it won't be a draw is if Aust bat until stumps tomorrow and have a 150+ run lead. Then the Pakis collapse and are all out on day 5.

One thing Smith could do (but won't) is declare overnight. Chuck the onus back on Pakistan, give them the slightest sniff of a chance to think they might be able to win, hope you can roll them going for quick runs and see where the game sits.

But modern captains don't think like that imo
