2016 Coach Rumour

There's no way on earth that the infantile Taylor will survive beyond '16.In addition to Taylor being incredibly inept he has a young roster to deal with & he is way out of his depth mentoring rookies.Hence there's every chance Cleary could be @ Wt either back half of next season or end of '16.

I don't think Taylor will be sacked. If anything he won't have his contract renewed for 2018 but its obvious that they have a clear cut plan to re-build which has started with a clean-out. I think the board know that we weren't going to see success in 2015 and that we will only be marginally better in 2016. It's 2017 that Taylor will have to prove himself. He will largely have his own squad, his own time to get his shit sorted and will be free of salary cap problems to start serious recruiting.

I also think Taylor won't get sacked however another year like this year and its a possibility. Lets hope we turn it around over the next 2 years and Taylor gets judged on his performances.

I don't think he's on much coin and thus is a very real risk of getting the arse.

If the first 11 Tigers games of 2016 is anything like the last 11 games of 2015, then he won't see the end of the year (3 wins, 8 losses).

A coach is supposed to make players better, and subsequently the team.

first half of 2015
12 games - 4 wins, 8 losses, For 211, Against 242 (-31 difference)
last half
12 games - 4 wins, 8 losses, For 276, Against 320 (-44 difference)

Shows that we didn't improve anywhere, especially in the area of defence which he stated at the start of the year would be his only focus for the year.

The bloke is a charlatan

I resent that statement.

Yay another rumour.

JT will find himself in the Centrelink queue if they don't pick a few wins up early. Whilever Crazy Ivan is on the market he's got the tip of the blade firmly pressed against his back.

Farah knows this and that's why he'll not budge.

Hope robbie remains with us as there's no doubt the illiterate dickhead Taylor won't be the coach in '17.

However the only reason robbie is still with us is the nrl wouldn't register a recent contract offer by Saints coz it's only half the value that the nrl consider the incumbent blues hooker to be worth.

Bullshit, we'd be paying the other half. We're contractually obligated to.

We'd be paying 75% as saints offer was approx 25% of what Farahs contract with us is worth.

The nrl r only being equitable in setting realistic market prices.

Since he already has a contract, market prices are null and void in this case as we will foot the bill for whatever the Dragons don't pay.

If Taylor signs Reddy, he'll be effectively writing his own resignation

Telegraph has story today with headline
New pressure for Taylor
Ex-skipper O'Neill set for key Tigers role and big say in coach and club's future

No link as I do not subscribe.

This I found interesting though,
Already there is speculation in league circles that O'Neill's former Tigers teammate Todd Payten would be the players' preferred coach if Taylor does not see out the year.

I wonder just how much of a say a former Balmain player is going to have over a former Magpies player at the cub which is basically being run by the Magpies and the NRL.
