2016 Coach Rumour

A large part of JT's problem is his communication skills imo,he isn't one who comes across as articulate or exuding confidence in his beliefs which makes it hard for players, fans etc.to support him, most of the time the poor bugger looks like he is about to cry and is in need of a hug...!

f**k Taylor. The sooner the miserable illiterate useless prick is retrenched the better for the future of this club. This idiotic juvenile has been a bad fit from day one.The way he mishandled the Farah saga late last yr shows a total lack of street smarts. He cost us our most machismo forward & hasn't got anything out of Brooks as he is obviously using him totally wrongly.

There's no excuse for letting Marion Seve go as well I might add, especially when the alternative has been Nathan Milone. I can only assume that someone at board level is pushing for his inclusion.

Taylor has been involved with footy his whole life and must at least be a half decent judge of talent. Blind Freddy could tell you blokes like Milone, Buchanan and Lovett are not up to it.

According to a forumer on the WTF, There's a push to field a team with at least 50% juniors week on week. Lovett is also cosy with JT which might explain why he gets picked, a teachers pet selection.

Said poster gives pretty intimate info, would have to be a club employee.

I've seen the "50 per cent junior" post and whilst the poster seems to have inside info, this doesn't add up to me...

Who at the club would be pushing it and for what reason?

Also Buchanan is not a junior- why is he picked?

An article is yesterday's Telegraph also stated the club is favouring Todd Payten as Taylor's replacement. Surely this cannot be true ? Our next coach has to be someone that has already proven themselves at Nrl level. We simply cannot take a gamble and risk another couple of seasons on a coach that isn't up to the task.

If payten is the next coach then this club can get f**ked as it will show they have learnt nothing from the endless & monumental errors of the past.

They must employ a coach with a proven track record & someone who has had no affiliation with the club.

Apart from payten being inexperienced & an ex-teammate of our gen manager of footy there r question marks re his integrity. It was a well known fact that payten was undermining potter when potter was coach.

They must employ a coach with a proven track record
and who would that be?

Although money talks, is it possible to get a coach with a proven track record when the club cannot pay what a proven coach is worth?
Is it possible to get a coach when the the club can be seen as a basket case over the past x years?
Is it possible to get a coach when said coach is told that he must pick 50% of juniors each week?

Many coaches start their 1st grade coaching careers after being a 1st grade assistant so does the club approach one of them? Furner & Cartwright are assistants but were previously 1st grade coaches.

there r question marks re his integrity. It was a well known fact that payten was undermining potter when potter was coach.
I have said on this forum that I was told Payten would be the next coach and when I asked about his relationships and rumour about Potter's downfall, I was told that he is as tough as and doesn't play the favourites game. As for the Potter thing, it was paper talk by journalists who know nothing, live off and thrive on rumours typically started by themselves. His beef was with the club management as they did the dirty on him. Is what I was told.

But, I'm not naive enough to not take what I was told, was and is simply rumour and someone spreading a story for their own benefit, whatever that may be.

Time will tell.

Taylor last season said wait until the halfway mark for a true indication of how we are going. This year we are 2 from 7 and Taylor is pleased with how we are really improving. (losing by only a few points to teams that are playing poorly?

What would be the win loss ratio at the half way point of this year that would be a clear indicator he has to be dumped immediately. I'm guessing that what ever that indicator is Taylor will achieve it and he will be our coach next year.

It is sad to see the demise of the Balmain side of things but the longer Taylor stays the closer we get to the demise of Wests Tigers altogether.

Listening to 2MMM this morning (which I don't normally do) and they had a bloke on (disguised voice) who was saying that JT is on VERY shaky ground and in fact if the team does not perform against the Knights, then he may gone by the end of this weekend, apparently they are furious with the raiders effort, don't think last week would have helped either.

The 2 leading contenders are supposedly Kidwell & Payten.

Again, not sure how legit this info is, but MJ & MG said that he is a regular who is pretty spot on with info, others here may know more about this.

Newcastle should b confident about chalking up their 2nd win this week.

There's no doubt that Taylor isn't a coaches arsehole but when the time comes & its imminent that he will be moved on then the replacement has got to be recruited on substance & merit & not on emotion or sentiment.Thats y it can NOT be kidwell or payten !

Kidwell would be equally as poor as taylor and there is no way that todd would be much of an improvement.Get someone who has NOT been part of Balmain Magpies or WT.A total clean start is required

If kidwell and payten are the only options to replace Taylor, then i don't want him to be sacked.

If WT management havent learnt from experience of rookie coach #1, we deserve everything we get. This mess needs an experienced head coach not another el-cheapo rookie.

Apart from the absolute irony of consideration of Kidwell, despite his massive failings over some 3 years as defensive coach, and Payten, well people know my opinion on him, neither person has done enough to qualify in terms of successful experience.

I can only think of Steve Folkes as a possible contender, but why would he want to come back to this unprofessional, amateur hour mob / rabble?of

Edit- maybe Toovey as well? Im not sold on Cleary but Id prefer Cleary tp the joke Payten / Kidwell
