Zero chance of it holding up. The remaining fixture is weak and its now back to Thursday and Monday every week. Even allowing for perfect weather every week I predict the average will end up 14,800
You keep quoting this 14.8 figure and why I don't begrudge you in order for that pessimistic figure to become a horrifying reality we're looking at a 13.5k average for the remaining 7 rounds. While that is possible, I think some real blockbuster games will present themselves and hopefully a lot of band-wagoners jump on and we can finish strong.

With origin out of way hopefully it won't drop further. We've gone from a high 16.8k a couple of months ago back down to our bog standard 15.4k we've had for years.

We've got 4 Broncos home games in last 7 rounds so that will help save it hopefully.

I wonder if the poor Sydney crowds this year influenced the World Cup venue decisions?

The average over the last seven rounds last year was 14.8k, maybe that's where he's pulling the figures from.

That's worst case scenario though IMO. There are enough key fixtures (below) to tide us over and keep us above last year's average.

R21 - Dogs v Dragons, Eels v Wests Tigers
R22 - Eels v Manly
R23 - Broncos v Eels, Dragons v Sharks (maybe even Dogs v Manly)
R24 - Broncos v Dogs, (maybe Roosters v Dragons)
R25 - Dogs v Cowboys, Storm v Broncos, Eels v Dragons, Knights v Souths
R26 - Broncos v Roosters, Dogs v Souths, Storm v Sharks, Warriors v Eels

I dont see that many blockbuesters in the draw to give us a boost past 15k tbh. The sharks band wagon is in full swing but they dont really have the capacity for it have much affect on the league average. Melbourne will go along at is normal rate, maybe a small spike to 14-15k with their schedule in mind.

I hope i am wrong.

Do you think the bandwagon is big enough for sharks to take home finals to ANZ this season? Or will they go for a full house at SFS?

They would be crazy not to play at the SFS. Keep in mind though, as the roosters were told in 2013-15, that the NRL can force them to play a prelim at ANZ if they deem the crowd will exceed the capacity of the SFS. A home prelim for the sharks against the Bulldogs for example would likely go to ANZ. Given the current top 8, I think that is the only scenario where a sharks home game would be at ANZ.

I don't know why the NRL don't schedule Friday Night Footy each fortnight at the SFS.

And every Sydney team has to play there at least once.

In fact, why the hell can't the NRL get teams playing Home and Away on alternate weekends to keep people in the routine of going?

And the stadia policy needs looking at big time. Souths have a Monday Night Footy game against Manly at Allianz?!? WTF?!? People need routine.

Our scheduling this season has been poor.
For me Thursday and Friday works ok as it leaves my weekend free but for others it's a nightmare.
I only hope when the NRL takes control of it again it is somewhat fairer.

Another part of the scheduling drama that people might miss is that every club puts in 4-5 requests every year and it's on the NRL & broadcasters to try to meet most of them.

Either way its a bit off that Souths didn't have a weekend game in Sydney between March and July. Thats not a weekend home game just a weekend game.

Well in order to have an average of over 15K the remaining 56 games need to average 14.2K, so we shall see.

The stupidity of the NRL (dictated to by Nine) will see Parker's last home game being played at 8pm on a Thursday, schedule it during the day and they could've locked in 50k+

Our last two games of the season should see nearly 20k for both. Really excited for Broncos + sharks on successive weeks at home
