Care to expand on why you think it's ridiculous with that much blue? Can you see any potential clashes which may arise?

Because I thought the point of an away/alternate was to provide a contrast/difference to the home kit. That one doesn't really.

Just like Souths?

Exactly. All teams should have a design that sufficiently contrasts with their home jersey. There's plenty on here that argue that it shouldn't but a consistent rule across the league is the fairest option imo.

Parra could easily have shifted those stripes up like their home jersey to make it predominantly gold.

How massive is that dlydam logo on the front!!! I get sponsors wanting maximum exposure but it's so big that you start missing parts of it.

yes, but is that jersey 'player cut' or 'fan cut'..

pretty sure if it's the latter, by the time the jersey is on, you'll see the full logo no problems at all..

If theres no real clash why do teams even need 2 jerseys? I would like souths to have had the 9s shirt as the away this year but why does there need to be a rule on a non issue like this? I've never watched souths and thought I can't tell who's who the shirts are very close.

Not as bad as the Tigers 2016 jersey sponsor logo. It takes up 1/3 of the front of the jersey.

i say only 25% actually..

that jersey appears 8cm tall on my screen, and the logo 2cm..

simple maths says that it's only 1/4 of the overall size, and that your estimate is overstated by 32% (1/4 vs 1/3)

I wouldn't say that lime green clashes with much but I don't have a problem with my team following the same rules that the other teams follow. What makes your team such a special snowflake that it can't follow the convention of most team sports around the world?

Two similar jerseys just adds another unnecessary jersey to the pile in the event there is a clash. I don't care if they have two identical jerseys with different sponsors, or sell fifty permutations of a single design as fan jerseys to the masses, just stop messing around with the on-field product.

And the argument that Souths are holding onto tradition just doesn't hold water until they stop shitting on their classic design with black/white panels and huge sponsor boxes. How do they keep screwing it up?

Like I said I don't know why we have two full stop if they're going to be so similar and that I would have liked the 9s shirt to be the away.
But I don't know why anyone would be bothered what shirts another club has and say we need to start making rules. Surely if there's no clash that's good enough?

The idea of whether something clashes or not is pretty subjective, enough to split the opinions of the posters in this thread.

Basically the only jersey I will be buying this year. Pure beauty, why the f**k we aren't wearing this as our home jersey, I will never know.

Sigh

Thats glorious. I probably wont buy it as ive already got the 20yr Anniversary jersey which is a very very similar design. That, plus i dont really give a shit about the WCC, id be happy for us to send over our fringe first graders.

This just makes me more frustrated about the home jersey. Start a petition.

Surely thats down to the refs/NRL not the posters on here.

That Cowboys shirt is really nice looking. Just a shame about the sponsor between club badge and WCC badge but that applies to almost every RL shirt.

Which is the premise of the discussion - half the posters disagree with the inconsistency of the current rules while the other half either supports them or doesn't care.

Its not just the subjective clash but this inconsistency of enforcing rules to some clubs but not others. Its a common theme in league, you know.

But what is the rule thats not being enforced, whats the wording? I haven't heard anyone quote a rule just that people seem annoyed (for reasons i don't understand) that souths have two similar shirts.
As I said I would be more than happy for us to have two different shirts I'm just not convinced that souths are not having a rule enforced on them.
