The biggest problem i have with this is the white V on Gold; the contrast is awful....

Switch the Maroon with the Gold and it might turn out ok.

Having said that though, the V is SOOOO over done...

Except then it wouldn't be anything like the jersey they are replicating...

Exactly. Debate what's wrong with the design all you like but they've put it together to be as true as possible to the 1987 original proposal.

Interesting from Parra tonight - yellow shorts with the away kit to provide a point of difference to the Bulldogs.

The Broncos jersey is an interesting concept for a heritage jersey in that it least forms part of the Broncos history. Does look like a 1980's Bulldogs recolour for a local club though.

Exactly. It's a radical idea for a heritage jersey - but quite cool.

Wonder if we'll get similar "Jerseys that never were" as heritage strips in future - like the blue Penrith jersey they wore before they were promoted in 1967 (and had to change to brown), or the jersey designs that Souths were going to wear if they weren't excluded in the early 2000s.

Are there any other examples like that which could be used?

Not bad, kinda reminds me of the Knights original strip, how you have one colour on top, bars, then another on the bottom (including shorts) - or for that matter Brisbane 1988 (Yellow, bars, then maroon from top to bottom - before they flipped the yellow & maroon on the jersey a few years later).

Would've been a more effective contrast to the Bulldogs if they wore the predominantly yellow jersey with the yellow shorts instead of the heritage, but it'd probably get even more hate from some quarters.

It isn't the heritage, it's the away jersey, replacing the yellow jersey.

Was last year's heritage jersey but is actually now their away kit. They've done away with the reversed yellow version of the home kit.

Thought the Broncos looked good last year in yellow shorts for the nines. Eels looked a bit out of balance, needed blue socks with more gold on the jersey. Cool to see gold shorts make a comeback as an alternative to white.

Interesting the eels jersey last night had the Blue piping down the sides. Last year it was Yellow piping when they played Dragons. Good looking jersey.

t?s the Broncos? jersey that almost never was.

Now 29 years later it will finally get its chance to play a part in one of the most-anticipated regular-season matches in Broncos? history.

Next Friday the Broncos will run out in a previously-unseen 2016 Heritage jersey, a strip that almost became the jumper everyone remembers.

This design was one of two finalists for the original Broncos jersey back in 1987.

It eventually lost the decision to the original strip Wally Lewis wore to captain the Broncos in their debut in March 1988, a stunning shellacking of then-reigning premiers Manly.

But on Good Friday 2016, Corey Parker will lead the current Broncos out onto Suncorp Stadium in the strip that could have started the iconic history of the club.

In keeping with the heritage design, the 2016 Heritage retail jersey will have three-quarter sleeves.

The old-style collar that everyone appreciated in the 2015 Heritage jersey also makes a return for this year?s edition.

Brisbane Bears would look good in that.

Just saw the Sunday Footy Show where they just had legend of league Ricky Walford and showed footage of him playing for the Roosters in 1982/83 and they were wearing a predominately red jersey didnt show the front but looked more like an illawarra kit. Anyone got a pic of the actual jersey from the front? Would love to see it.
