F*ck I hope Ricky or someone in the Raiders calls them out big time on this. It's just hilariously obvious cheating because the Sydney teams are just too shit to compete.
You raiders fans should start a go fund me to pay the fine for when he inevitably explodes

I think the astounding thing about it all is that someone fouled a Tigers player and may actually serve some time on the sideline.

f**ked for Wighton though, I didn't think there was much in it TBH, especially after Ennis got off.

Not at all. I think most believe they should either both be charged, or both be free to play. Can't have two sets of rules

absolutely spot on. If Ennis was charged, this wouldnt be an issue at all. But he was told he didnt even have a charge to answer for, yet Wighton gets a grade 2 for the same thing.

It's absolutely ridiculous

Sam McKendry got two weeks for one that looked pretty innocuous while Koribete (I think) wasn't charged in the same match. It went against the Sydney team that time.

Shoulder charges to the body are just way way overgraded. Wighton does sail close to the wind at times (hence his 40% loading), but 4 weeks for early plea is over the top for that tackle. The one he hit Soward with last year was worse than this, that got him a week.

Wait so Wighton with an early guilty plea gets 4 weeks?

367 points, that's what it says. 490 if he challenges and loses.

Oops my bad 3 weeks for early plea. Still a very tough call and a slap in the face after Ennis got off.

Well I gotta say, I feel sorry for the Raiders supporters. But not for Wighton, the guy is an A grade POS.

Much like Ennis for us.

Wighton had his arms up. It wasn't shoulder charge.

Buettner's position is now untenable. He must resign or be sacked for the good of the game.

The NRL don't care that long term supporters get turned off by this shit. It's all about new money.

Consistently inconsistent

I'm over it. It's taken the gloss off the game. It's ludicrous that a tackle like that and the loading from a couple of minor incidents (touching the ref and a slightly high tackle last year) can rub a guy out for the finals.

I've always maintained we want our best playing in the finals. I wouldn't have wanted ennis suspended either despite it being a textbook shoulder charge.

Imagine if Ennis played for Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, NQ or the Titans - he'd have copped a minimum 3 week ban. Klemmer would have missed time too. It's ok though, the NRL got what they want.

Yep remember when Ryan James broke a Sydney teams star player jaw and sat the year out?

Or when Cameron Smith, Jarryd Hayne and Thurston touched the ref and copped the same punishment as the Sydney teams Origin player?

wightons arm is tucked.

Edwards shoulder is also tucked...

The shoulder charge rule is the worst to be introduced to the game in recent memory. The rules committee seriously need to make an amendment.

Shoulder charges allowed. Shoulder charging player takes the risk, and if contact with head is made, it results in a suspension.

League purists will be turning in their graves if they were to see how soft the game has become.

Rules committee fast turning it in to rough touch football.

Joke

Mate we have won just 1 game in like 6 weeks, we aren't getting any favours from the NRL.

No Paully clearly understands the Sydney League fan landscape. Havent you seen all the Dragons, Souths and Roosters fans adopting the Sharks in the finals? I just drove past the Taj at Kogarah and its decked out in black and blue
