Maxwell was right there. He had one job. It's downright scary that they still trust him with a whistle, where he has to keep his eye on a million different things.

Even though Kalifi was dudded by the refs, that play from Loa is probably the dumbest play I'll see all year. Why risk a certain six points for seven points?

Fai Fai Loa took a risk, backed himself and pulled off a great play and was totally f**king dudded.

A risk he didn't have to take. What was the value in 1 extra point in that situation.

He brought the refs into it & he paid the price.

No doubt a try & if it's awarded they probably win.

Edit: if he puts it down outside the bonus area, they probably still win.

The video ref would have got it wrong anyway

On the contrary. The refs ruled a no-try to further their validation for video refs so as to keep the pressure off them.

No video refs in the season proper, then you have refs put in positions that they find too hard to handle.

The fact that players need to keep an official's decision making abilities in the back of their minds when they're on the field says alot about the state of the refereeing in our code, doesn't it?

Maxwells had to do it tough. The NRL failed to get him a special allowance for him to bring his crack pipe to NZ. It's written all over his face.

It's nothing about the refs, he was in a whisker of being out when it should've been a certain try.

We needed the replay to ensure he was in, which we can't use.
