serious question to qld supporters but do you actually enjoy going into a series/game knowing full well the only way you will not win is by bullshit reffing or some sort of miracle? or injury to key players?

i mean with all the immortals in your team you guys should be certs every game.

hopefully we get a more free flowing game and the stars come out and shine, and if they do it should be Queensland by plenty.

It's a feeling of comfort going into each game as a QLD supporter, we have had the right people in the right positions for a decade now so that generally has you optimistic for each game. QLD though hasn't really put NSW to the sword in as many games as they should have and most games have been somewhat competitive. This entire decade NSW has had the superior forwards it's just they were unable to capitalise due having no key players in the 6/7 or 9. Hayne kept you in most fights but now that he's gone I feel your f**ked.

This is the greatest Origin team ever, with a multitude of once in a generation type players in multiple positions you come to expect greatness.

They have also managed to keep a massive chip on their shoulders about the tiniest things to use as motivation every year which helps

The tide really turned from 2012 onwards when NSW started to develop a lot of meter eating forwards, the backline hasn't caught up just yet..

You could have named Kermit the Frog your origin coach instead of mal and now Kermit would be the greatest origin coach over. Mal is a pretender.

yeah i feel there should have been more floggings but i think there will be more to come.

if dylan walker is getting picked as a bench player than daley clearly isnt the right man to guide NSW into the future.

2014 was a complete fluke though. and everyone knows it.

over the years i cant help but notice my once excitement for state of origin has turned into me more or less treating it as a burden i have to go through because i just cant look away. similar to watching eels games.

NSW wont win jack shit until they get rid of the influence of Bob Fulton. He's a yesterdays man and is simply not suited to the modern game.

We need a total cleanout from the top down. Goodbye Fulton, Daley (simply not a coach), Gallen, Greg Bird, et al.

Have some younger guys as selectors, people who have played the game a lot less than 40 years ago like Fulton.

I enjoy watching a player make his debut at this level.
However Grahams suspension was warranted.
I honestly thought nsw would win game 1. Now the only thing that will save them will be horrific refferee decisions.

For me I think it's knowing that the game will probably be dictated by NSW trying to grind out a defensive win in a low-scoring affair. When they win, it's a relief they lasted the 80 minutes and held Qld out. When they lose, it's frustrating that I sat through another grim, defensive game only to watch them come away empty handed and knowing I can't get my time back.

It'd be great to see NSW begin to chance their hand more and throw the ball around, play a more up-tempo attacking game. Even if they lost, I could at least walk away having watched an entertaining game of footy where the players selected showed off their usual attacking prowess that they boldly display so often in the NRL every week. Yet come the "pinnacle" of our game and it turns into this dull, defensive affair that seems to be more about not losing than going all out for the win. There are some ball-hogs in that squad who stifle our attack and have played a considerable part in the sort of score lines we hadn't seen since the mid 80's.

Oh- and Fulton has to be turfed. It's complete rubbish that the NSW Origin team has undergone so many organisational changes in the last decade (namely NOT employing a Blues coach whose weekly NRL gig has him playing father figure to a stack of "enemy" players), yet Bozo sticks around like a turd that won't flush, stinking up the joint with his bullshit Manly tokenism. Personally? I'd like to see a NSW selection panel made up primarily of League officials with no ties (past or present) to an NRL club. That's the thing about the Qld selectors- they only care about Qld. What NRL team they were involved with once makes no difference because there's not the historical or political weight behind the Qld NRL teams (no disrespect to the Broncos or Cowboys, but when the oldest NRL team in Qld is no older than the youngest un-merged team in NSW, you get my point). The team make-up and direction of the NSW Blues has to be solely dictated by people who care ONLY about ensuring NSW have the strongest team on the field of the available players and f**k any of this "Who you know> what you know" bullshit. I'm convinced it's this factor that has been more detrimental to the NSW rep teams since 1980 than anything else, regardless of who Qld have had available . The strength of the Sydney NRL scene is a blessing in many ways, but a curse when it comes to Origin.

2014 a fluke? Did well to beat one of the greatest origin line-ups in history by utter luck. Wow!

It's relief.
Something i didnt experience much with origin as a kid.
I'd be nervous and hoping Queensland could win just one game let alone the series.

Queensland have won consecutively but NSW dominated origin football for years and years.

It is a strange feeling as I'm not too worried about this game but thats because i feel like NSW could have picked a better bench.

i think Daley needs to use his interchanges right to give us a chance, bird should play a lot of his minutes on the left edge, gives more time to klemmer and Fifita who both have the ability to get us on top in the middle part of the game.

the walker selection is abysmal, but he is there now, use him. walker shouldn't get any blame for what he did or didn't do in game 1, its all on daley giving the kid no chance imo

I'm actually cheering on Qld.

In the naive hope that another loss and dismal attacking display will see the end of Bird, Gallen and Farah, and above all, that cancerous germ Bob Fulton.

Of course Bozo will be selector until he's 80, but at the very least another embarrassing series defeat should see those three selfish merkins get the chop. Gal will be allowed to retire with Game 3 but surely the other two don't get selected.

You know Gallen's already confirmed his retirement from rep football after this series, yeah?

Morris ruled out
Walker to start
Jack bird onto the bench

Thought Cartwright would've been ahead of bird. Weird, Bird must've impressed more at training

Anyhow I think our attack goes up a notch now however our defense may suffer a little with Walker in the centres

Morris gone is a very big worry.

We'll be lucky to get within 20 of this great Qld side. The pain continues whilst the likes of Daley & Fulton still remain clueless.

I am more concerned with that side.
Morris was a huge liability last game, maybe an upset is on the cards.
