I thought it said a lot about Queensland, that they dug in and came back from the position that they were in to get ahead with a few minutes to go. Well, it says a lot about NSW and some of these young blokes coming through that they didn't give up and pulled off a pretty miraculous play to fall just short of the line; then held their composure to shift the ball left and come up with the match winner...defying all of the negative messages that a dead rubber game 3 would be sending their way, as well as the subordinate disposition NSW has right now...it was something special and hopefully bodes well for the future.
Gallen picks up the loose ball...sees it on down the middle via the left.
He expertly spots Johnathon Thurnstile defending in the middle and puts Jennings away.
Then takes over the kicking duties to make sure the blues get the extras.
They'll miss his leadership and vision.

was one of his finer moments, as was his TA to Frizell. As I said before, one of the better games of his Origin career.

I'm loving how unhonoured Gallen is the wash up. A palpable sense from the NSW cohort that 'it's over'.

They won't be building any statues that is for sure. His departure reminds me of those old battleships they sink to get rid of them.

Look, its largely semantics.

To me, its overly dramatic to say that he 'threw the ball at him'.
It's absolutely semantics.

Semantics is about what words actually mean.

Cooper did not "drop" the ball. He propelled it at Moylan. Whether you want to say this doesn't constitute a "throw" is up to you.

Whatever word you want to use it was a bitchy thing to do from a big man to a little man.

I like gallen and i dont blame him for nsw problems but his origin career is being owned by queensland for a decade. He is rugby leagues darren Gough. He worked his balls off for england but Australia kept winning tests against him.

Good on him for getting a win in his last game but the facts don't lie.

Uhm, wut?

Regardless, I feel as though if it was Hodges who did what Fifita did with roles reversed, that QLDers would be all "YEAH PASSION" and "HE STOOD UP FOR HIS MADE QUEENSLANDERRRRR".

But it wasn't

It was Fifita who ran like 30 metres to totally overeact to a nothing situation and get sent off when his team needed him

For the record if we all jump in a hot tub time machine and go back to when hodges played I'd still be calling it one of the dumbest thing I've seen on a football field

I'd debate the first point.

I wouldn't debate the second.

And not the first time a player has done it. First time we've seen a maniac run over to a huddle of opposing players celebrating and pull one of them away by his neck though.

I think Gallen's dog-eared passion for the sky-blue was at one time admirable. But then he just ended up getting in the way. He probably deserved to win a dead-rubber game 3 as his farewell...sums up his Origin career.

FFS this is like talking to a cup of tea

I am saying that Fifita was provoked by Coopers' action, but not for good reason as Coopers' actions weren't provocative.
So like the word throw, you need a sliding scale to decide what a word means?
  • Cooper threw the ball at Moylan's head.
  • Cooper's actions were provocative.
They're facts, I don't understand why we need to measure them. Fifita's a complete dick, Cooper was silly. Game's over.

Now just wait for the tide to go out... :fishing_pole_and_fish: :fishing_pole_and_fish: :fishing_pole_and_fish: :fishing_pole_and_fish:

I'm not suggesting everyone will have the same opinion - but there is a school of thought amongst some (not all) QLD fans - that sort of "defending your mate" stuff is lauded and applauded.

I'm with you - it's dumb. Just sharing a different perspective.
Laughing and deriding - not whinging. Gallen can do what he wants. Don't get your panties in a twist when others suggest his actions reflect poorly on his legacy.
There are QLD fans out there suggesting Inglis and Parker were suspended to "support the narrative" the referees made after their "mistakes" throughout the game.

In a series QLD WON.

There's been plenty of whinging both sides of the border this morning and last night.

Thanks to no punching there has been an increase in grubby antics. I remember dwz grubbing it up against papalii in round 1 this year including a squirrel grip. Later on lima hit soward in the balls in a wwe style low blow

Now it was f**king hot in round 1 so the players were dumber than normal but the game is fine with grubby stuff like dropping a ball in a players face but isn't a huge fan of dumb clowns running in from a km away to start a fight 30 seconds after the fact. Maybe the game should crack down on grubby stuff but fifita was always going to be binned because he so blatantly escalated it like a huge moron.

oh... it be whinging by the Qlders.
sooking , bitching and crying foul all get a pretty good run too .
Is there any stats on how many minutes Smith spent complaining about the referee's decisions last night?

Be about 10 mins ...maybe 13?

So I'm guessing your equally annoyed with Parkers reaction to a little push. I still can't believe that he misses only 1 week for the blatant, late dog shot elbow.

To be honest, I missed that (streaming issues- I am away on holiday)

But sure, I guess...

Yep. Fifita did something really dumb. I completely agree.

It's also not the first time I've seen a ball thrown (dropped, propelled, flung, whatever word you want to use) at a players head but hopefully the last. Every time it is a bitch move.

Hopefully next time cooper is about to be a bitch he thinks twice and decides to show some restraint.
