Look, its largely semantics.

To me, its overly dramatic to say that he 'threw the ball at him'.
It's fact. Moylan was on the ground and Cooper threw the ball at him in a goading fashion. He didn't peg it or slam it, just threw it. The context is irrelevant, it provoked the Fifita reaction.

And rightfully - Fifita was binned for his idiocy.

I think what's more laughable is the term "pegged" and "spiked" used earlier. Hence the calls of exaggeration. Some Blues fans would have us believe Cooper "javelin threw" the ball into his head.

I never said it wasn't. But so what?
Because the commentary team spent the best part of 3 minutes "wondering why" despite it being plain to see in the live shot.
Because Queenslanders claimed it was unprovoked.

It happened - so it's up for discussion. We're on a discussion forum, yeah?

Fifita's actions were totally disproportionate to Cooper's. Bottom line. Call what Cooper did what you want...of course it was goading. That happens all the time. Fifita just lost his shit.

The only person who used "pegged" was @Shorty - a Queensland fan, and not in reference to Cooper's actions but a comparison of other incidents in general.

What Cooper did was disrespectful (and I though QLDers knew all about what that is), but Fifita overreacted - and worse, it took a while for him to even get over there to react.

Also, Cooper Cronk is quite quick despite his age. He ran down Val Holmes in a club game earlier this year. He is really deceptively quick.

Do you actually read the full content of what is said to you or just the bits you want?

Fifita is an idiot, did something dumb, got 10 minutes and now a week off for it. I don't know that anyone here could argue that.

Why are you so offended that people have identified that a Queenslander did something that provoked the action? Nobody's suggesting it excuses what Fifita did.

What did I miss?

Your stunning correction of my spelling of Fifita, or another quality contribution?

Yes, I read everything you wrote.

I know.

I'm saying he didn't 'propel it with force'- the definition of a 'throw'

Sorry to get physics nerd, but force has a very specific meaning. He either dropped it, to which the force placed on the ball was called by gravity. If he didn't 'drop' it, then he applied the force.

I'm not saying he placed a large force on the ball.

I'm not.

I don't have a dog in this fight.

I just don't think what Cooper did was provocative.

You are kidding yourself mate. If you are saying he didn't propel with force you are saying he didn't throw it when he cleary did. You are just finding a more technical way of saying the same dumb shit.

I'm pretty much of the opinion that he dropped it.

Which is irrelevant really...he definitely was goading Moylan and he gave him a mouthful. And Fifita jumped right on the line.
