I think we'll do better than we did in 2015. Setting the bar high.

Johns didn't have the natural gifts Thurston and Johnston have. Not in their postcode for pace or hole running. Joey worked very hard to be the best. His ability was God given but he had to counter his physical limitations.

Maybe not, but they aren't in his postcode for defence, kicking or passing. He is still the best all round player the game has seen.

If you had to pick one Thurston or Johns to play for your life which one would you choose ?

For mine A Johns in a heart beat. He woudnt of missed that conversion after the hooter in the GF that can be almost certain.

There's nothing wrong with the talent in the squad, it's the attitude that had let us down lately.

If he can work on that, we will do well.

We one 4 in a row last year (including victories to warriors and cowboys) before injuries starting to pop in........with a better squad than the start of 2015, there is no reason we can't go well

No way will we finish in the eight. I'm optimistic, almost sold completely on being away from the bottom 4 but even if we have a drama free season with few major injuries we lack the experience in too many key positions to win enough close games.

That said, considering Penrith's 2014 season, who the f**k knows anymore. Anything seems possible if every goes right.

On paper we can do the top 8.
With the culture in the club there will need to be some tough decisions made to do so.
Out of form or not putting effort in and you get dropped. Pressure needs to come from NSW Cup Players banging on the door to get in.
Bennett said that with us it was the first time in his career he needed to accept that he had a team whose goal was to just play first grade. We need that goal of top 8 or higher to get the club out of itl

I would be shocked if we made the top eight. There is a huge lack of quality and depth in key positions. I reckon we will aim up quite well in the forwards this year but struggle with the polish.

I have a massive soft spot for Newcastle - I was a Central Coast boy in the 1990's and the Chief was really good to my mum once when she wasn't at her best.

So as long as my team - Souths - beat you - I hope you guys have a really good run of it, get the rub of the green and squeak in to #8.

Good luck!
