If he actually starts ahead of Wade its a disgrace

except that Jackson plays on the right and graham plays on the left. unfortunately for graham, the captain plays on his side.

edge forwards and centres are becoming fairly specialised re the sides of field they play. they defend in important positions - #4 & #2 respectively with a speed bump generally in between them - on their side, so rep coaches will select these players on the side they normally play at club. walters has done the same with Gillett (right edge for Broncos and will be for QLD) and Papalii (left-side for Canberra and will be for QLD). All about movement, etc, particularly when you've got a nimble half heading towards you with an edge back rower running a line and the FB chiming in outside him. need a player who is comfortable moving the right way instinctively, and that comes with repetition.

And Jackson should be watching Lewis play origin from his couch.

f**k oath!!! lewis should be the right forward. apart from illness, he should never have been behind hoffman, scott, and now jackson. only frizell gets near him as a right forward for NSW, and he's the NSW middle forward anyway.

Queensland to win this narrowly.

I just don't think Pearce has it in him to successfully pull together a team of champions as he's expected to do. NSW will play like a team that have never played together before. Queensland will do just enough. The champion team will overcome the team of champions.

Can't see Speedbump Milford starting the game
One thing Qld do well is not copy NSW mistakes .
Look at Mullen Wallace etc ...
Thrown into the starting side instead of off the bench & ruined them for a few seasons .

I think Morgan will start & Speedbump will come on after about 25 mins .

NSW will hit the ground running providing they get to kick off and dictate the game play.

Timing in defense is always crucial, and rushing up too quickly will create problems for both sides.

I see one of the back rowers from either side getting the first try after continued pressure after 10-15 minutes.

The rest of the game will be dictated by some howlers from the touch judges in not ruling forward passes, the referees getting lots of free chicken vouchers in the mail, and the bunker deciding in the final minute who wins the game after 20 minutes on the phone to the TAB.

even though most of the NSW players have repped in Origin before, combos are new once again. QLD still have most of them in place....although the left-side with Milford - Papalii - Chambers - Oates is new.

NSW have fullbacks in the centres and Smith was talking about targeting the NSW left-side with Hayne in there. Maloney will be inside him too. This is the side Cronk-Gillett-O'Neil will be coming down.

Both teams publicly picking out what they perceive as weaknesses in the opposition. Will be interesting if they're just bluffs or will actually do it.

I think Morgan will start too tbh

Walters bangs on about experience in game 1 yet he chucks a rookie into one of the most important positions on the field over an experienced rep player? Yeah nah

Morgan/Cronk halves make most sense

NSW will dominate the first 15 minutes with their forwards ripping in and the Qlders barely holding on. They will grind their way into the Qld 22m and countless times be let down by a poor 5th tackle option. Desoite their dominance they wont get points.

Pearce will murder a 3 man overlap and instead of putting it through the hands kick it dead.

From the ensuing 7 tackle set Qld buoyed by their defensive effort go 80m and score. Momentum shift right there.

NSW forwards will.spend the remainder of the game winning the ruck and generally be on top but the halfback has well and truly shat himself by this stage. A stream of errors through pushed passes on the basis he has to step up cause this is his team will undo any ascendency the fwds have worked for. NSW backs will not have received any ball in attacking position at this stage and will have been reduced to just tackling and hit ups off their line.

Qld will ping over a couple of penalty goals as NSW loses its discipline through frustration and lead 10 nil on the scoreboard and 8-2 on the penalty count by half time.

NSW will drop the ball off the kick off and Darius Boyd will put Gagai over in the corner for 16 nil after 45 mins.

From there NSW will jag a few late tries to make it look close but the game is already over. Milford will have a quiet but competent game chiming in as and when but letting Cronk take the lead role. Pretty much the opposite of Mitch who will have been running around like a headless chook (pun intended) cause its his team this year.

Daley will lament the loss and say it was the rub of the green and ask the entire team to own it confirming Mitch will be a certain starter for game 2.

Roosters fan Steven 'Stevo' Rosenkungl will lay the blame squarely at Nathan Peats feet. He will be duly dropped in game 2 for Wobbie Farah.

Who would have thought with NSW having the better team and all?

Thats a summary of the vast majority of the last 10 years going into a series as a NSW supporter. Somehow we always convince ourselves we have the better team and it will be different this time.

We havent learned a thing. Hell, even the bookies have us favourites at Suncorp ffs. I hope we win highlighting the word hope rather than expect...

Must be some money involved there. This has turned right around the last few days.

The Sportsbet guy said we had moved into favourtism on Sunday. All the money has been for NSW. Very surprised and Qld are now exactly where they want to be - underdogs.

We have Woods playing so we automatically lose.
Want NSW to win but it seems like QLD will be far too strong up there.
