Yep. Each and every time. Eventually, clubs will realise that the risk isn't worth it after seeing clubs gutted for their salary cap infringements.

If they did it with the bulldogs in 02 I really do think that would have been the warning sufficient to prevent any other club taking such a risk for at least 20 years.
Ok. Well how about the Raiders and Bulldogs? They were over the cap this year

I find it f**king hilarious when I come into threads after storm win and find people moaning about the cheating of last decade.

Makes the win sweeter

Over the cap is over the cap
I honestly don't care much, and I think that melbournes cap cheating was long enough ago that it's not relevant.

But I think that it's a stretch to compare deliberately signing two contracts versus badly managed caps.

The end result is the same regardless of how they got there. Is it really badly managed or is that just what they want us to believe? if I remember correctly, the raiders have been over 5 of the last six years or something like that. Is that bad management or is it deliberate?Melbourne were only marginally over the cap in 06 and 07 but still had the 07 premiership stripped

Revisionist history?

As long as players remain that were retained via payments that were part of a system that rorted the cap, a stink remains on the storm.

Many viewpoint of completely stripping a club of all achievements and players solves this.

If the storm had managed to rebuild from the full and proper punishment clubs deserve for cheating the cap, I'd give them their due.

Until then...

I don't know the specifics of each case, so in hindsight I probably shouldn't have commented.

All I'm saying is that it's appropriate to make a distinction between deliberately paying players outside of registered contracts, and mismanaging a cap. If the raiders are proven to have deliberately cheated the cap, happy for them to be punished too.

Good luck stripping their premierships though...

I don't see people saying the same about the Bulldogs in 2004 after being over in 2002. The Bulldogs and Eels don't appear to have been treated in the same vein. Do the Eels have to scrap it all and start again? Or because they won nothing it doesn't count. What if they win next year with players that were apart of the 2016 Eels side.

As I said, all players who were at the dogs in 2004 are long gone.

Storm home average this year: 15,647, Penrith: 14,087 so roughly 1,600 below each home game for your mob in what is meant to be a rugby league heartland and one of, if not the the biggest RL nurseries for juniors in the game. Enjoy your off season dickhead lol
Average of 15,647 for the whole of Melbourne? Suck another uncircumsized one f@ggotbrain.
