I actually think the referees got all the calls pretty right as much as both sets of fans seem to get upset at a couple.
The Broncos defense was up very quickly all night and I think that cost them in attack as at times they were the slowest Broncos attack I have seen in a long time.

Pearce was actually very good last night. His defense was sensatinal and he saved the team a few times. Keary did the finishing a bit but a lot of that was set up by Pearce.

Friend was the one that let the team down, great in defense but his service was too slow and he carried too long before passing on a few occasions

Wow. I thought Keary was clearly the Roosters best and the difference between the teams. He was the best player on the field. Boyd was great also. Lui was excellent carrying the ball early on. Latrell was hard to handle with ball in hand and Aubo did a fantastic job in defence in the centres most of the game. Jake was awesome in attack and defence and had to overplay his hand at times to make up for the poor showing in attack and kicking from his number 7.

Pearce made some great tackles - as did many others.

How differently we saw the game.

Roosters lose convincingly if Keary doesn't play. He is a gun.

I thought it was a try initially, but the replay showed the ball came loose. Mitchell has to actually regrip and control the ball, not just ground it like a grubber.

The first 20 minutes or so of the contest was great. Both teams played extremely fast football and the Roosters were just capitilising on the Broncos defence. Unfortunately the Gordon goal put the Chooks into their shells and the rest of the game was exactly as you described.

The Roosters are one of the most frustratingly 'great' teams I've seen. They're like Cronulla or Manly where you can see greatness in them but they just commit the dumbest mistakes imagineable.

The fact Ferguson came up with that play and they still won sums it up.

Regardless, it probably works out better this way. Sydney v Cronulla/Eels & Melbourne v Manly/Broncos makes for a far more interesting GF qualifier.

We've been spared another Manly v Storm or Broncos v Storm GF, so that's a big bonus!

Winner of this game was always going to be the losing opponent to storm in the gf. So looks like a Storm v Roosters grand final is likely

How about the absolute bath that Boyd Cordner gave Gillett?

Forgetting that moment where he forgot how to run he absolutely dominated that game.

His runs are legendary.

The man just loves bitch slapping pretenders to the throne of the "best 2nd rower" title.

Alex Glenn outplayed old boyd easily

Maybe? I thought the issue there was the tongue lashing Rusty gave Keary at Nana Glen in front of the playing group?

Either way, Keary got the Roosters home after a poor showing from their halfback.

That was it...I stand corrected.

So Rusty baked a player,so to save face because of Keary's form,he has sacked the coach? Anyway, coaches are made the scape goats in any team's demise.

Some get sacked, some sack the club and move along to another club when it is ripe for a premiership.

A penrith supporter talking to a knights supporter about stealing cars. How appropriate.

Blacktown is Sydney’s hot spot with the most number of car thefts — but Bankstown in Sydney’s southwest has the highest rate of professional car theft (stolen and not recovered) in Australia, with 58 per cent of cars stolen in the past 12 months not recovered (311 of 541 total thefts).

There are more cars stolen in the Victorian city of Hume than Sydney’s highest suburb for thefts, Blacktown. In the Hume local government area, 76 per cent of cars are recovered while the number of professional thefts (24 per cent) is lower than the national average.

Anyway I tipped the chooks so no surprise in this game. With Boyd back the broncs become a much better side in attack and defence. Pangai will also add some attack if fit. Anyone counting out a great club like Brisbane have no idea. I find it strange how many people have Melbourne already through. I can see an upset this arvo.

No not what I meant at all.

Keary has been awesome for Easts all season. McGuire would have killed to have him in the halves at Souths this year playing in the form he is in. But Rusty ruined that. In turn you could argue not having Keary at Souths certainly effected the win/loss column this season and eventually saw McGuire lose his job.

Interesting comments from Robbo last night. Acknowledges that we're lacking 80 minute performances but isn't concerned. Is more focused on us continuing to deliver on the big moment plays that have won us games.

I can see where he's coming from. We've shown this year that we are quite solid at winning high pressure moments

The form line Parra carries is weak. Beating Brisbane twice (belting them in fact) in a month is not strong form. Parra losing to Newy is not strong form.

It was good to know a bit about this back in the long ago. My first wife and I used to remove the rotor button from our old Corona when it was parked at Emu Plains station, we had his and hers rotor buttons. Club locks were pretty good too but someone determined enough could open one. The old girl was always there upon return, unlike my first wife.

Any reason why Mcguire runs so wide of the ruck?
.

He was running at Keary all night. So many of his runs he went looking for him. A reasonably sensible tactic. But Keary coped with it and also had some stellar help

Keary was terrific as was Latrell. I wasn't down playing Keray's game just pointing out that I thought Pearce was also very good
