This will be similar to when Storm played Souffs in 2012 when Souffs had been out of the finals for a long time. Melbourne's class and experience will be too much and they'll win by 18.

Gonna tip the eels. If they can smash Jesse Bromwich out of the game in the opening 10 minutes or even better Smith (if they can get their hands on him) it will level things up considerably.
How the refs handle the ruck will also be crucial. Eels and chooks to get a week off.

How anyone is entertaining the thought that Parra have a Dog in this fight is bordering on the rediculous.

The Storm are going to drop a turd down the Eels' throat. That is how distasteful this game is going to be for them.

The only positive point about this game is that all other clubs are thinking about the bullet they dodged by not coming 4th.

I think we are capable of beating them but I would have been more confident with French in the team.

I think we will win in a close one by 2-8 points or get hammered by 20+... we either go down there all guns blazing get an early lead and grind it out or we just get totally outclassed and get brought back down to earth with a thud very quickly.

I would be surprised if its anywhere in between.

I agree with all of that. So pissed that French is not playing.

Imagine if we had French AND Guth?!

We'd probably win by 20 tbh

Seriously though - the forecast is for rain easing in the afternoon/evening so I guess it'll be pretty greasy under foot.... Kicking games come in to it, especially short kicking games, Moses needs to imprve there, while Norman has been super impressive on that front....

smith needs another 20 points to pass johns on the all-time list. 5 conversions from this one isn't a tall order
Not sure if you meant 5 conversions to pass johns?

If you did, your maths teacher has a bit to answer for.

not to get the total, just towards going past him this year
Ah... I owe your maths teacher an apology.

You'd have to think he'll get there. Can easily see Melbourne winning at least one game by a blowout score this finals series.

Doesn't matter - The GOAT will score 5 tries on his own anyway!

In all seriousness rather nervous. Parra are unpredictable

I think in years gone by unpredictability could defeat Melbourne. I can't see it this year though. They've become a team that can Adlib with the best of them, but they're also very good at picking their moments. As a neutral they've (begrudgingly from me) become a very good team to watch play.

Hard to imagine anything other than a Melbourne victory tonight. Massive pressure considering their favoritism, but they're in their bubble down there away from the Sydney media, and their key players seem to thrive on pressure anyway.

Phew. If they win tonight they might not be as up for a win tomorrow.
