I've never understood why that's not a penalty. It's another ridiculous rule, he was every bit as high as he would be contesting a bomb.

It's because the rule was never, ever about player safety, as the NRL claims. If it was, attacking players would get the same protection, as would players after a bounce.
It was clearly only introduced to make defending bombs easier, to deter "boring" football.

Where do you draw the line then? If someone has to jump to catch a pass, does a defender need to stand there and wait for him to land?Pretty much spot on....
