The Dogs will be a much tougher proposition than last week. But they are now really only playing for pride, whereas the Panthers must win to realistically remain in the race.

Des will pump his side up, he is a master at it, but coaching a team that cannot make the finals is new territory for even him. The home side, even without Moylan if he's rested as seems likely, should prevail so long as they have their minds on the job.

We should really be looking to boost our F/A here. But the Dogs have a tendency to bounce back after big losses. Still think we can win this fairly comfortably if we don't throw f**king offloads every tackle and instead focusing on building pressure first and then letting the rest of the attacking flair come after, and only if needed.

I think this game ends the Panthers season. Dogs too strong and dirty.
If you study the table and the draw, you'll see that the Panthers need to win 4 of their last 6 games to realistically make the finals. While this isn't a game they'd count on losing, it will merely like losing a leg, rather than fatal, if they lose.

If you win 4/6 then you're hoping that the Dragons only win 3/6 and even then you're underdogs due to F&A.

Panthers must win 5/6 with one of those wins being against the Dragons imo.

I'm not one to go overboard about the Dragons sudden rediscovery of form. In addition there is Manly who were utterly appalling today and must be considered vulnerable with 2 very hard matches in the next 2 weeks. And the Eels were a bit fortunate to get past Wests it must be said.

Anyway, this is not a match the Panthers can afford to lose, that much is clear. If they are eliminated on 30, they will be the first side in history to have done so (actually the Panthers of 1988 lost a playoff for 5th after getting 30 competition points from 15 wins out of 22.)

Penrith lose this game and Raiders/Titans win, that changes the mindset with 2/3 teams trailing them by only a game.

They haven't played smart or consistent footy all year and I can't see that changing, especially with added pressure.

The Raiders and Titans are 6 points out of the 8, they can realistically book end of season tickets now, nothing to do with the Panthers. Especially with the 8th placed team playing Newcastle next game.

7 wins from their last 9 games, but who's counting?

The commentary said that the dogs are one of the better defencive teams this year. They just can't score points. They also win after big losses. This is a danger game for us.

There is an x factor about us lately were it seems that although we are winning,it still is not convincing for the critics to tick us as semi final prospects.

I feel we'll put the cleaners through the Dogs. They have shown nothing that can threaten a team like ours who has won 7 from it's past 9 games.

Put it this way,if the Dogs were playing another side who were in our situation with the same 2017 record, who do you pick? Pretty easy isn't it?

The only disagreement I have is about the finals. The 8 is almost locked in. We'd have to have a near perfect end of the season and still rely on results of others to be favourable.
