Lol who is running the agenda here?

The onus is on the defender to not put the opposing player in a dangerous position whilst attempting a tackle. The defender is allowed to get himself into a position to catch the football.

If the attacking player then lands on him and ends up in a dangerous position it isn't really his fault.

Like I said, watch the replay again.
The defender in this case took no attempt to get the ball. The defenders hands were only to make contact with Ferguson whilst he was the the air.

The attackimg player takes the risk by putting himself into that position. How should defenders defend these plays? Stand there and wait for him to come down?

By tackling the player in the air without putting them in a dangerous position.

Its pretty simple

I fkn loathe that penalty.

When will the NRL learn that quality legs tackles need to be rewarded, not penalised.
