The roosters don't have to do any more than they did the other night, they went down by 3 away to the premiership favourites with some dubious officiating in the first half. Still, they weren't good enough on the night but very close.

Correction you came within 3 points against a Storm team missing one of the form players of the game in Munster. Tohu Harris was also out..
You played well but will need to lift more come next meeting. If that arises.

The Storms have also played a bit below their standard the last 2 weeks.

I don't see doubts over their credentials, all I see is Roosters supporters shitting themselves with worry.

lol ok mate, keep telling yourself that. Even if we don't win another game ending in your wet dream of the panthers knocking the chooks out, the year has still been successful for us given where we were last year.

The panthers on the other hand have beaten one decent team at near full strength all year.

Flogged by St George, flogged by souths.

Yep, shitting myself.

Of course we need to lift, everyone does in the finals. For the record, I don't think we have what it takes this year but the performance the other night gave me more hope than I had a week prior.

Anyways, surely you can see why the panthers have their doubters given who they have (and haven't) beaten and their favourable draw?

It's hardly anything to do with past form in who we haven't or who we have beaten during the season. It's all about now...this moment in time, and how our present form is presenting itself.

Compare it to the likes of the early front runners St George,Manly and Nth Qld and their demise, what you have what is called a reversal of form.

I really don't care who we beat. We didn't make the draw. The Dragons had the easiest draw of everyone and look what's happened. We're in with a shot to make the 8 and can make top 4 if results go the right way. while we have the youngest/second youngest team in the comp with a 19 year old second year halfback and our roster changed mid year to what it should have been to start with then we went on a run (10 from 12). Anyone looking to play finals other than Melbourne should be looking over their shoulder.

Penrith have turned it around since mansour came back giving them great starts to sets.

They'll win this. Their halves are much more consistent.

That's all valid and you are right, Penrith didn't make the draw but they have still benefited from it.

I'm not saying they don't deserve to be in the 8 just that they have a ways to go before proving themselves given the results this year. If they win this week it will be their most impressive win of the season.

For some reason, that gets frog very upset.

We've been getting better, it just doesn't look it because we were so shit and no-one was taking notice of us. A few weeks ago we couldn't get a backline play out wider than the second row. After 20 odd rounds the coach is finally getting the players in the right positions and things are beginning to take shape. It is just that it is the 11th hour.

I think we'll win on the basis we'll play for 80mins like we want it.

We can only play who is in front of us. But put it this way. Who we have beaten the last 6 weeks I think if we played those teams at the start of the year we may have only won 2 or 3 of those games.
Not because Johnson wouldn't have been injured or the Bulldogs would have had something to play for. No, because we sucked for the first 2 months and half months of the comp.
We are slowly getting better and our best has rarely occurred this year.
Last year we stormed into the finals with 6 wins on the trot with some beautiful attacking football. We haven't gone anywhere near that form this year. Yet we have won 10 of our past 12 matches.
We are playing ok in patches and our attack sometimes is clumsy. But we are improving and have much more improvement in us.Whether that happens this year I don't know.

This could be our hardest game of the remaining 3 given the Raiders have recaptured some of their '16 form and have the potential to dominate us physically.

While I haven't been impressed with much of our play and still don't rate Griffin as a coach, we have shown a certain mental toughness in being able to consistently lift in the 2nd half to get the wins and that would have to boost the team's confidence. They know that if they can defend well enough and be close going into the final half or quarter that they can find another gear to give themselves a chance of winning.

While there are plenty of critics of Penrith's performances overall, the likes of Cleary, Campbell Gillard and Blake (to name a few) in recent weeks have shown why they have representative futures. So confidence would be good despite the clunky displays.

I think the Raiders will be hard to hold out down there with their big pack and improved backline form but I wouldn't be surprised that if we can hang with them we might get them late, once again :)

Panthers 6 in a row gives the impression they are playing well and in good form. But Raiders form has been better than ours the past few weeks.

Hoping this is the week Panthers put in a great 80 min performance. I feel we will need it. We cant win another game in the final 2 minutes again.

The Raiders played average against the Warriors. The Warriors are just so bad it didn't matter.
