Can anyone tell me, why the code in their right mind selected Thursday night for the local derby Sharks v Dragons?Seriously 13,000 then.
Play it on a Saturday night or Sunday arvo or even 8pm Friday,they'd crack 18,000.Simples.

The spelling is "replicate ". And I'm suggesting if it were a popular Sydney club (Parra,Souths, Saints, Roosters etc)or even Melbourne the same timeslot would draw a big crowd in Newcastle. Especially during the daylight saving period.

It's cruel isn't it!? I'm feeling for you Taipan. But any game on a weeknight other than Friday should not occur unless a holiday follows that day. Pretty simple but not in reality so it seems.

The 6pm slot can work if the clubs and nrl get creative with it and make it a truly family friendly game of the week. Call it the family game, free kids admission, loads of give away, face painting, flags etc for kids. Sure you’ll lose the 20 plus working crowd for that game in all likelihood but if they are more than replaced by families going along then so what?

That is the start of the weekend. So you would rather a Monday or Thursday night!? Crazy logic! As emphasised before out of all the weeknights this is the best option. Not saying its perfect but has more merit than the other week nights.

we're starting games now before most people even get home from work , it really doesn't matter what day it is
would we start origin at 6pm ??
only a code run by luny's would do that , & only luny's would think its alright

You’d have to ask the nrl that one! Why did they feel it worth it to sell two of the game time slots in fan unfriendly spots? Regardless if we like it or not they have for the next 5 years so we might as well try and make the best of a bad deal.
