Apparently it’s only Sydney that has busy traffic on a Friday teatime lol
Population of Perth is 1.6 million. Population of Sydney is 5.1 million.

There's a fair chance that a city with a population over 3 times that of another will have busier traffic.

Try again

Nah, as I said in my previous post about AFL Weeknight game times the only time games start before 7pm on Thurs/Friday nights outside of Public holidays are in Perth-- no game in Melbourne, Adelaide or Brisbane starts before 7pm.

So it's either that Perth is more like a 'small country town' in regards to traffic congestion-- or that fans are able to make special arrangements with work/family, etc. to ensure they are there for a 6:10pm start for the ONE AFL game this year that starts that early.
you mention AFL in every post

Why anyone is arguing about 6pm crowds in Sydney is beyond me. Traffic across the metro area is diabolical from 4pm until 7pm. It’s a shit time slot for every except tv networks.

Here is the proof...

R2 roosters dogs 12226
R3 dogs panthers 11247
R5 sharks roosters 11855
R8 manly knights 5715
R11 eels warriors 9487
R13 rabbits sharks 10410
R17 partners warriors 10255
R18 panthers sharks 11742
R19 sharks raiders 10000

Doesn’t prove that any particular club doesn’t get a crowd. It proves the 6pm timeslot in Sydney metro averages 10324 people.

Move anyone of these matches to 3 pm Sunday in the sunshine and add thousands more. It’s just how it is.

It's only Sydney that has the geographical spread of clubs ,the inadequate infrastructure, the traffic congestion, the population ,which leaves the other cities for dead in terms of time taken to get to venues.
But of course tucked away thousands of kms away, boot licking AFL tends to fog ones mind on the matter.

It's (6pm)a crap time in Sydney yet you can't or don't want to see it or appreciate it.You're like the man who fell out of the balloon, you're not in it.

Move it to Sunday and lose millions in TV rights. 6pm games are for the broadcasters, not for crowds. Not sure why there is such spirited conversation around this. If the game wants the cash, they need to live with smaller crowds in some slots.

That’s my point. People in here arguing that it’s the clubs inability to draw crowds. It’s the damn timeslot.

Maybe 15 years ago. From 4pm on a Friday freewayis a traffic jam until 6:30pm. Of course being a sensible city we have decent public transport. Though leaving work at 5pm getting home then back to optus stadium would be impossible for most unless your really committed to be there. Oh there we go, that’s the real point of difference, commitment.
How many games does each nrl team have at 6pm on a Friday, 1 or 2 at most for majority? And I thought that was the point of suburban grounds, so you can get to them easily from home?

There’s no doubt it’s a sht time slot that fans dislike, it’s a shame we can’t negotiate better, we should be able to get same money without these timesnthat are killing any hope of the game becoming more popular.

Will look awesome at the new Parramatta stadium, hope more than just Parra play out of it, forget SFS & Homebush redevelopment, it will be the biggest game changer for Sydney crowds.

Yeh these are the games that will really benefit from WSS, the atmosphere was good at anz, it’d be rocking at new WSS and that will make people want to be there more and more.

ive proved you know nothing about Perth
Additional info . Sydney's population in 2017 was 5.37m and according to ABS the expected population to reach 5.64m by June 2018.Don"t know how they arrived at that, but shows Sydney is slowly strangling itself,

Youre out by a half a million or so lol
Point stands 50k in Perth on a Thursday night, 10k in Cronulla. It’s notmreally the night, it’s the amount of fans and commitment
