For those who dont think there is a direct correlation between crowds and TV viewing figures, I just witnessed my young bloke and a few of his mates sit down to watch the game, saw the crowd and lack of atmosphere and after 5 mins they went outside to play cricket.

The QLD derby already feels like a totally different experience. It's amazing what a big crowd does for the atmosphere on TV. Anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves.

Bet a heap of those seats have filled up when the second half kicks off, looks to me like some people have come in late. Maybe the 7pm kick off, couldn’t get there in time?
