Hearing plenty of rugby league talk around the place. Far more than previous years before round 1. Everyone seems excited. Hopefully this translates to big crowds

Hopefully the showers hold off for the Newcastle game. They could prevent a big walk up. Otherwise I think 25-30K is possible.

I'm starting to think they don't want a big crowd in Perth. One of the guys in our office just came and saw me to help him with getting tickets as he has never been to a league game and wasn't sure where to sit, we tried the Ticketmaster app on his phone which said tickets are unavailable on the app, we moved to my office and jumped on the website to find the seat selection option is gone so I couldn't help find him a decent seat, and after some random searches in different categories the best we could get him was 4 seats in bay 123 which is in the corner behind the in goal, he decided to give it a miss because he wasn't going to the effort to watch a sport he doesn't follow and sit in a crap spot.
Again the issue here is that the entire top tier has not been opened, people who went to the cricket said that the top level is right on top of the field unlike ANZ and is a great view.

Ticketmaster is such a sht website for ordering from. Its painful regardless of what seats are available. Why the NRL use them I have no idea.

Either the game is selling massively well or there are large sections not on sale as whole sections are showing no seats available on all three tiers. Hopefully its the former!

Section 123 for $90 is sht. I got seats in 124 for $55 and its literally across the aisle! He could have got seats in 120 or 145 for $90 though which would be great seats.

Cheers, I'll tell him to keep having a look as the week goes, the availability seems to change daily.

A-League clubs use them as well, but all ticket selling websites do the same thing. Controlled selling of seats, selling the cheapest, shit seats first, and gradually raising the prices as tickets become more scarce.
It's a f**king scam.
They just need to open all seats up at the same time, make them all more affordable, and they'd make more money because they'd sell more tickets.
I hate these chunts and their sneaky ways.

No one should have to go through this guessing game of chance to purchase tickets! It's wrong! Very similar to the ticket selling fiasco throughout the recent world cup! So rugby league entices the public yet the process of buying makes seeing the product a challenge!? Amazing! Ultimately its rugby-league's fault as administrators have not proactively scrutinised potential ticket sales businesses. This lack of business accumen has lead to an awful circumstance for potential and current fans.

How much is expected for the Tigers v Roosters game? Forecast looks very good, family friendly timeslot, cheap tickets and the Tedesco factor. Surely 20K is a minimum?

4.30 pm on a Saturday? It is not necessarily "family friendly" as quite a bit of kids sport have not finished by, or are just finishing at, that time.

Further, studies done by the Roosters membership some years back identified Saturdays as being Roosters season ticketholders least preferred day for going to the football. I know it is a Tigers home game, but I'm mentioning it as I'll be surprised if it gets near that figure to be honest.

You will be surprised! It is family friendly and the $20 adult and $40 family tickets will attract a big crowd!

Cricket has finished in a few Associations now. Soccer and RL are possibly having trials? Fair enough if there is a trial happening after 2pm. It will be hard to get there.

That feels like a pretty weak excuse. I'm not saying Saturday afternoon is the perfect timeslot but it feels like just about every timeslot is blamed for poor crowds.

Ticketmaster now says "Not Many Left" for the Double Header, so the assumption is they are not opening the top tier and going to cap the crowd to the capacity of the lower tiers. With the seating added onto the ground area this will be somewhere in the vicinity of 40k. Still perplexed as to why they dont have a crack and see what they can get by opening it up.
I went to the BBL in Melbourne over the Xmas break and the one thing I noticed was the entire top level of Etihad was $20 general admission, $5 for kids. Just and example of sports getting the crowds in.

Roosters have about 5 fans anyway

In a Tigers email I got they’re expecting about 20k. Whether that’s in regards to ticket sales or just pure hope I have no idea

Strange decision if true. Still if we get anywhere close to 40K that would be absolutely fantastic.

The top of section 101 tickets are only $20.

They'd have a contract with the venue, so it's probably not up to the NRL. That said while neither Ticketmaster nor Ticketek have particularly great systems, the US-based Telecharge is far, far more painful to use.
