Anecdotal, word of mouth, junior player statistics and their have been market surveys done in the area. You will just have to trust me and others on this. It's not just me whom has seen the damage. I'm just holding the flag up as its the right thing to do whilst you geniuses provocate on the sure demise of the code with poorly thought out and fanciful suggestions.

Juniors stats? Market surveys? About Saturdays game and the jerseys? Link?

Just happened to be at a pub and most people were wondering who were playing! That's all . A bit of real life experience at an Aussie pub on a Saturday night. That's all. Apparently not enough for others to see the recognition issue that is clearly at play! ? It's moreso the casual and neutral fans that are confused but some of the 'geniuses' on this site can't work that out!

Which is it? Just anecdotal? Or stats?
I was at a pub as well on Saturday night. Everyone knew which team was which.
Anecdotally, that cancels out your claim...

I don’t think it takes a genius for a casual or neutral to look at the top left and see it’s Tigers vs Newcastle.
They could do it at the same time they checked the score.

Lol. they should not have to look! It's should be instant recognition and familiarity ! It's called cultural reinforcement. I know I'm dealing with some dumb dudes but Geez some things are just obvious. I must admit my degree in Communication studies gave me an insight into what the audience thinks and sees so I must acknowledge that many of you dudes haven't seen got this knowledge. So I persevere with the lessons!

A degree in communication studies?!

You mean a comms degree? Big deal. You know, I’ve had a lot of jobs: boxer, mascot, astronaut, imitation Krusty, baby proofer, trucker, hippie, plow driver, food critic, conceptual artist, grease salesman, carny, mayor, drifter, bodyguard for the mayor, country western manager, garbage commissioner, mountain climber, farmer, inventor, Smithers, Poochie, celebrity assistant, power plant worker, fortune cookie writer, beer baron, Kwik-E-Mart clerk, homophobe and missionary.

Perhaps you could contact the NRL and fix all these pressing issues!!!!

Perhaps you can enlighten me with your days as a hippie! ? I'm sure you are on the weed nowadays! Mind you my first stint at University alligned itself with similarities to the hippie culture in some aspects.

So how do you explain premier league sides being some of the most recognisable sports brands in the world and having kits with nothing to do with their culture.

We need a team with yellow and black livery. You watch the supercars and/or look at cars on the road now tell me that colour combination does not look awesome. We also need a team that wears red like Ferrari. Also lets get rid of Manly.

hm I don't agree with your Ferrari red idea but I do I agree with your Manly killing policy.

i think the NRL should implement a rule that the team logo needs to be bigger than the sponsorship logo.

For a start that code does not have another code trying to kill it! That's a big one some tend to miss! It's easy to gain universal recognition when you don't have a code with influence and power repressing a much more attractive code. Try that for a start as a major part of the explanation. Soccer gets an unfettered access and exposure whereby it's look can be tampered with as it can't go into obscurity like the well hidden code of rugby-league get rugby league. Don't get me wrong it's not just union doing its tricks. Their is incompetence within rugby-league's ranks and I can see where some of it sprouts from!

But I thought RL brands were seared in to the Australian psyche? You can’t have it both ways.

The clubs are seared in the psyche but we shouldn't think that will always be the case and there are signs club identities are under threat rather than being emphasised.
Jerseys, logos, big ads on the front of jersey. Add that to players jumping clubs and several other issues and it is under threat.

Well that won't be happening any time soon, can you show us where else theres such a mental rule in pro sport?
