And some claim the nrl don’t favour certain teams.

The entire game of RL has turned into a joke.

The NRL (judiciary) has essentially hung the refs out to dry as well, who actually made a decent call and penalised the incident. The reasoning the judiciary provided suggests it wasn’t a shoulder charge at all.

Shocking leadership from the governing body who have put a fairy tale ending and the supposed feel good story It will generate above the risk of injury they believe is associated with these types of tackles.

I’m actually not in favour of banning shoulder charges but if the NRL believes they are that dangerous then they need to have the balls to consistently enforce the rule.

Imho it was a professional foul in the act of scoring a try. So Slater should have gone to the bin.

Guaranteed that to most fans, the reason their interest fades in this game is how your team can get robbed due to ref inconsistencies. Judiciary included.

Well I’d say the judiciary backed the refs call. They penalized it but didn’t put it in report suggesting they thought penalty sufficient

I want to know why there is such a disconnect between the MRC and the judiciary? The MRC saw it to be an illegal play so how can those on the judiciary panel then go back on what others have said?

It seems like the MRC goes by the rule book whereas the judiciary plays off emotion.

Did anyone expect anything other than this outcome? Always thought the cat would get off. Just another reason why I’d rather watch paint dry than watch the cheats prosper again on Sunday.

Slater's lawyer Nick Ghabar successfully argued that the first point of contact in Slater's tackle was with his pec, not his shoulder, and that Feki's angled run left Slater with no option but to make the try-saving tackle in the way he did.

I’ll just put the video here for everyone to see. FMD Blind Freddy can see that Slater ran cross field and his intent was to bump him into touch. It was a shoulder charge.

Yea but TBF that's because we never bother fighting it and just accept the guilty charge every time.

That would mean the ciub has to spend money, Max says no.

The NRL say that only 10% of charges are disputed.

A guilty plea gets you a 25% discount, so it’s a risk that not many clubs are prepared to take. For Slater it was a no brainer.

When Tep was charged with his shoulder charge this year, he had the opportunity to challenge however rolling the dice would have meant that instead of getting 3 matches off he faced 5 matches if unsuccessful.

FFS Gronk - TLDR;

I will summarise for everyone

1. Charges Laid

2. Demerit points calculated

3. Charges published

4a. Big name player: dick around a bit, charges dismissed
4b. Otherwise: suffer in your jocks sunshine
