Slater man of series is one of the biggest jokes of all time. One of the great players but that was a blatant fix
he was definitely the X-factor in the series. I've got no qualms with him winning the medal. If Teddy was going to win it, he had to have another Game 1. Fact is, when Slater came into Game 2, QLD were more solid around the ruck due to Slater's organisation and Teddy was less effective.
NSW players were disadvantaged by having several players play well and dividing judges opinion. Did they value Cordner's territory, Cook's spark, Teddy's line breaks, Maloney's game management, Mitchell's strength on the edge? Slater just stood out for QLD. Tries from an intercept and a kick in Game 1 to the threat and damage he caused in Games 2 & 3. His influence for QLD and the series was clear cut.
