I'm trying to think of another player who went from being awesome to awful in the space of 2-3 years.

George Burgess is one I guess.

That's the thing about being a poor trainer... it might not affect a freak like Hayne in his early to mid 20s but once he's around 30 it hits you hard does being a lazy merkin.

Cooper Cronk

Hayne-Fewest touches of the backs, most metres, zero errors, zero penalties conceded. "Lol it's all Hayne's fault"

Perhaps, if you watched the game, you would see that our bench forwards (minus Taka who played halves when he came on so hard to judge) made 11 runs for 91m, conceded 50% of our penalties, and made 20% of our errors. We got the bench wrong.

Daniel Alvaro, Tim Mannah, Nathan Brown and Tepai Moeroa all made more carries for more metres individually than our entire bench combined. Meanwhile RCG and Kikau blitzed it. That was the game at the end of the day.

Congrats panthers, if they can find the right balance between ignoring the coaches game plans and ignoring the coaches game plans they’ll be hard to stop this year.

Parra need some halves who are happy to have a dig instead of only wanting the ball when things are going well.

Nice to win when we weren't given much hope. Reminiscent of last year, slow start and look clueless but somehow look switched on and full of running and strong in second halves.

I would be furious if I was an Eels fan after that. Dreadful second half performance they deserve to lose that. Some of their players don't go the full distance and that's what came back to bite them.

How good is Nathan Cleary, can't believe he is only 20 years old. Plays like a veteran. Was very impressed with how Dylan Edwards redeemed himself after a poor start and the performance of Kikua was great on the edges. Blake was also impressive as we got the diamonds blake today.

I think it's more to do with his superstar attitude....he may not have done anything wrong but he certainly didn't do anything special. If you want to carry on like a superstar people will judge you like one.

I think people love a scapegoat...certainly Eels fans do, although Hayne isn't due his turn just yet it seems
