It doesn’t matter wether Hodkinson played at it. The penalty is because Thompson did and he was offside. Still funny how they get those calls right when they favour Storm but miss a blatant forward pass and rule a strip when Storm player drops it and Storm score both of their tries from those dodgy calls.

What about when a team touch it last ie kicked in to him they say he did not
play at it ....
Same thing he did play at it... Ref are a joke.....

In the case of offside, whether or not the first player that touched it actually played at it or not is irrelevant. Only the second player matters. If the second player plays at it, it's a penalty, if he doesn't it's accidental offside.
