The first time we'd dropped half our backline (including the captain) for being naughty in Melbourne. The one point loss was not entirely unexpected. The flogging in round 17 was unexpected (and if Adam Reynolds has another game like that we'll be in trouble again) but they'd used up every ounce of juice in vain in Townsville the previous match. I reckon they were still affected by that.
Adam is out mate so you needn't worry!

That flogging last year v Souths was at ANZ though, where apparently we never beat them. The loss at Penrith by 1 point was with a few players missing due to discipline, so none of those results should be relevant for 2018. We need to take advantage of a generous 2 home games in a row to start the year and while Souths will be fired up to get their first win, I think we have more points in us. I'd like to see a better start because we need to break that trend of poor starts.

I think Panthers are good for a big win here.

Between last years losses and how we started Round 1 off. I think they will be primed for a solid 80 minutes and that Souths just arent ready for that yet. I expect us to respect the ball more and cut back on stupid blatant penalties.

Can't see Souths getting near us unless our game will be jinxed by the surprises from last week.Who am I kidding,us by 32-14.

The heat during kick-off is only going to advantage Penrith, if they don't win comfortably there is something wrong with them.

Yep, never beaten Souths @ ANZ. Have a far better recent record at Penrith.
