I'd be happy if Easts played out of Henson for a couple months. It would be like 1987 again and it would help the Jets cause.
Not a bad idea.

see N_P, you want RL to be shown to internationals... yet i don't want our game to be shown in small suburban grounds... if there was a compromise... like all Sydney games played out of SCG and Parra stadium, i'd still don't know where to put the Bris games... how much can Ballymore seat?
I prefer timbo's suggestion.
Except they'd lose a fortune due to the lack of corporate facilities.
Easts and co. would be better off requesting mostly away games (I think you'll find clubs like Penrith, Manly, etc. will have mostly home games due to being uneffected) and playing the one or two home games they get in that period at the SCG.
There's also a fact alot of our good boutique venues, Parramatta, Ballymore, etc. will be booked by international teams for friendlies before the cup, as the major stadia will be out of comission.
I mean the stadiums will probably be used one in every 3-5 days...just put a League match in the middle of it
RS is right. A lot of you are deluded if you think we're going to have the balls/ability to stand up to FIFA and run our event and try to steal their limelight.
ffs we can't even stand up to our own broadcasters atm.
NRL will take a backseat to the WC, and rightly so. Its the WC in Oz, a once in a lifetime event. Surely League could go 6-8 weeks without competition. And people will not give a damn about the NRL, they'll be caught up in the WC frenzy. All pipe dreams.
I still think we put the competition on hold whilst the cup is here and have a knock out tournament to pass the time.
League will be 35 pages deep from the back of the paper whilst it's on. No point in ruining the competition IMO.
Just to re-iterate, I don't think people realise how hardcore FIFA go on WC venues.
