The whole 50 point thing is a fun stat, but realistically we were never a shout so it's a bit silly. Ultimately average sides will get belted at times.

Especially when they gift wrap the first 5 or 6 tries to quality opposition.

We are an average side, that's clear from the fact that guys like Takairangi and Terepo get in the 17 week to week. We're just an average side that can score a lot of points when we get a good amount of ball. The flipside of that is we can play impatient and dumb, because we're average and have too many impatient and dumb players.

Sacking the coach will do nothing to alleviate that. The Storm were in a mood, they were way too good and we were far too dumb under pressure to keep repelling them. But we seem to hopefully have drawn a line in the sand admin wise with Bernie Gurr in charge. We aren't being bullied by Ayoub and Gutho and we aren't being pressured into budging on our time frame for making a call on the coach. And to his credit BA has been public in saying that he is more than happy with that deadline, even after some good wins.

What we really need to do is start thinking smarter when we recruit. Guys like Taka and Terepo are decent athletes, but awful footballers. In the past we had to settle for them because of cap cheating issues or just being plain shit, but I'm not sure that's true now. We could certainly attract more intelligent players of similar quality.

Anyway that sucked, but it's not life over like some in the Parra forum reckon.

Funny isn’t it. The established clubs use the excuse of a lack of talented players as to why the game should not expand. A 4th choice fullback just put on a show tonite. Maybe the lack of talented administrators, coaches and scouts is the real problem
