2019 ASHES: 1st Test Australia v England, Edgbaston Aug 1-5

It's ridiculous how good he is. Worst technique in cricket with the best eye and fastest hands. Puts himself at risk of LBW every ball but just does not miss. Freak of nature.

You'd think that yes, but then it allows him to get right behind the ball everytime, drastically reducing susceptibility to playing away from his body and edging.

His initial movement gets his feet going and reduces the risk of being trapped on the crease.

Staying back in the crease allows him to play the ball as late as possible, doing his best to counter any ball movement.

His bat swing from gully and bottom hand reliance aids in playing with softer hands. The bat swing also reduces the time it takes him to connect with anything short.

Unique and probably ugly, yes. Definitely not the worst. It could even be revolutionary.

Thing about Smith he has so much time, I saw him get a ton at the Gabba last Ashes series and he seemed to have a week to play the ball compared to everyone else. Plus he is an amazing judge of length.

If he was to keep his strike rate for hundreds going the same, Smith would overhaul Tendulkars 51 test centuries (200 matches) in his 133rd test.

Obviously that's purely conjecture but it just goes to show how far above everyone else he is. At that rate and the same number of Tests as Sachin (which he won't play, but it's fun) he would score 77 hundreds!
