The Sydney clubs fans do not seem to travel across town to away games in large numbers even when their team is doing well.

It will gob smack me if Eels v Dragons is not sold out given that hardly any Dragons fans would have had a chance to look at the stadium and their team is doing well.

Do sydney clubs advertise in their opponents newspaper (in this case the Kogarah whatever)?
Or do any other sort of promotion targeted at getting the opponents fans to attend?

We share a newspaper with the St George side of the merged scum.
The sport section is usually aimed at the area the paper is delivered to.
eg in the shire the back page will be the Sharks results.
Vice versa for the dragons.

Can’t say I’ve seen much “ advertising “ for games in that paper though.

Thanks. I wonder if clubs don't even want away fans turning up?

The local derby gets loads of advertising in both areas
Well our side do.
NRL butcher it by playing it in Wollongong or in shit timeslots.
This year is finally on a sensible day and time.

Actually just checked
Dragons turn is in Wollongong on a Sunday arvo
That is shit.

Soccer is usually a Socceroos thing or Sydney FC
Comedy is for stuff all over Sydney
Record fair is in town( Glebe - town hall)
Music is also all over Sydney, eg I was looking at one for the Whitlams this morning at the metro.
Sharks & Dragons are the work of the clubs I’d say.
I’ve already said that.

Why would they advertise there?

Because if it’s a “Big Event” on a public holiday.
Thousands and thousands of People use that road for work all day, every day.
People from all over Sydney.

Or should they only advertise that big event to dogs and rabbits fans in belmore and hills dale?
My next door neighbour is s bunnies supporter
My mate is a dogs supporter.
They both use that road.

Geeze lucky your not running the NRL advertising dept.
Maybe you are.
f**k me dead.

If this post alone isn't evident you're more interested than winning on technical language than actually having a reasonable discussion I don't know what is.

It's simple - just because you don't see advertising for something, doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Because its monthly readership is less than 500k and covers two small regions within Sydney Metro?

You know there are these (admittedly trash) papers called the Telegraph (4.44 mil p/m) and SMH (7.49 mil p/m) right?

Right
Don’t have any comments about the actual point I made?

Worried you look stupid for suggesting the NRL only advertise in the area where the teams come from?
That’s not a very “Big Event” mentality.

Haha
Why advertise along the main road into Sydney he says..
The road that goes to the airport
The city
The south coast
The road tradesmen use all day

Haha

What "point you made"?

You make points, I use facts and figures to disprove them, and then you either change what you originally meant or just move to a completely different argument. After labelling Anzac Day an event match, you seem unable to concede that Bulldogs-Souths and Eels-Tigers on Easter weekend are the same.

So half, maybe even less of that 456k readership. 225k, maybe down as far as 200k?

Further diluting your argument. Good work.

I answered his actual question about the paper in Kogarah.
Dunno what the f**k you are trying dribble on about .

Your answer was pointing out you "don't see any advertising in that paper", I pointed out that combined across the two regions, it has a readership of 456k per month, which is a tiny fraction of the readership the Tele and SMH have, so why would they bother advertising in small local rags like that when they have a much bigger option?

His question had absolutely nothing what so ever to do with the SMH or The daily telegraph.

He asked do Sydney clubs advertise in their opponents newspapers.
He asked specifically about Kogarah - that being The Leader.
I explained how in our case we share a newspaper between the st George and Sutherland shire....and how the NRL reporting works.
Then to answer his actual question I said I hadn’t noticed much sort of advertising for games as such in that paper.

So again
I don’t why the f**k you are dribbling on about the SMH or the other one.

f**k you're thick.

My point, in response to your answer - is why would the NRL or clubs bother advertising to a small group of people in one region, when they can advertise in citywide/statewide papers with 10+ times the readership?

Its a trait if ticket pricing

You buy your season ticket

Get shafted with ThuNF or Fri 6pm games

Then with no lower grades why waste more money and time travelling to pay $50-70 for a decent seat that still doesnt give you the same views as TV now does

And you most likely are paying for Fox anyway too

Deep breathes Timmah
I know I upset you...but that dribble above has nothing to do with his question or my answer.

Maybe it's cheaper and better targeted towards their audience? (St George and Cronulla fans)

Not that Carcharias was ever arguing about this point anyway.
