Great weekend all round, well done nrl. Above avg crowds, 8 home clubs got a nice earner, fans who attended enjoyed it, players see m to respond and play more open football, Q’land Govt feelings smoothed after being snubbed for GF opportunity.

It will survive at least one more year.

By my way of adding up the crowds, magic round got a total of 262,298 fans with an average of 32,787.
Season total: 1,273,498
2019 Average: 17,687

Who agrees with me???

I’m not fussed with this equation or the total crowd, divided by the 4 days. What does surprise me is that we are more than happy to accept this equation when we are doing tv ratings but when it comes to crowds apparently it’s not on. Most Saturdays I don’t leave the home while I watch the 3 games on fox. Should I and the 10,000’s that do the same be counted as watching the 3 games just once?

Most on here are pro rugby league fans but seem more keen to talk the crowds down than up. If other sporting codes had the chance to sell a weekend out in one city they would be crowing from the roof tops. And I bet your bottom dollar they would be counting crowds per game. When it comes to helping promote the crowds, ratings and fan engagement this and next year are vital to help boost our tv deal monies. Can’t we look at it from the brighter side but put a very, very, very, small asterisk beside it?

Fully agree with this, people get pedandtic about crowd averages being "inflated" yet want to divide the average so the crowd figure for each game is lower than those actually in the seats watching the game. People pay for a day pass, they pay for a ticket to 3 games, count them 3 times if they are in the stand for each game. That's how the event is designed FFS.

Say in the regular season, if a group of 4 leave a game at half time do they knock 2 off the crowd? If I paid $15 each for 3 games then paid $45 for another game have I only attended 2 games?
