For people who are supposedly engaged with the game, I don't understand how you don't look at the story in its context and then pass comment.I get the feeling there was a number of bs stories put out over last couple of weeks to try and divert media columns away from player misbehaviour! Turner, ten team playoffs, relocations etc.
He merely mentioned that next year is the 30 year anniversary of the Simply the Best campaign and that they'd be doing something to honour that milestone.

She may turn 80 years of age in November, but Tina Turner has left a lasting effect on footy in Australia - and the NRL have set their sights on a reunion.
Footage of Winfield Cup stars smashing it at training, with Turner's What You Get Is What You See blasting, formed the backdrop for the 1989 season, which was best remembered for that grand final between Canberra and Balmain.
Turner and the NSWRL ramped it up with Simply the Best, which remains one of the defining sports advertising jingles some 30 years on.
In 1993, she performed the song at the grand final, and hearing the crowd singing along is just one sign of how everything took off.
For NRL boss Todd Greenberg, the chance to "recreate" the Turner heydays of marketing have seemingly been too good to ignore.
"Next year marks the 30-year reunion since Simply The Best... there is an opportunity for us to recreate something," Greenberg said at The Courier Mail's season launch in Brisbane on Monday.
It set tongues wagging, and last month, NRL commercial boss Andrew Abdo told News Corp that Turner's lasting impact on rugby league in Australia deserved the proper treatment.
Abdo said the NRL needs to think of "something cool around Tina" to mark the 30-year anniversary of Simply The Best.
"People still love her and the commercial... we will certainly be honouring her in some capacity," Abdo said.
"She doesn't travel much these days so it would be hard to bring her out here but we'll be looking at something special.
"We sure haven't forgotten her contribution to the game."
