Went to Brookvale for the Parra game a few weeks back
Had a couple of cans of 4 pine pale ale (local brewery - but now owned by a multinational)

4 pines pale ale is probably my favourite beer on tap.

You didn't answer the question. Why can't North Sydney create the atmosphere and crowds at games that Newtown and the Shute Shield can? There is nothing stopping them. Your claim that people don't support anything other than the top teir is being shown to be false by real-life examples.

The NRL don’t control beer rights at venues. It’s either the venue that has the agreement e.g Sydney Olympic Park and Suncorp having Lion, or the club for the suburban grounds like Penrith.

North Sydney Oval isn't NRL standard so that's out.

They've already taken the Cowboys game to Gosford - one could certainly argue they need to take more games there but if they only take two games away (Magic & CC) then those are done.

We can keep asking why Team X can't take a home game to Market Y but there's only so many times you can do that.

North Sydney oval is perfectly fine for a game such as roosters v Gold Coast. The bears could play before it, the crowd would be at least double than what will be at the scg.

I took a mate a couple of years ago to Henson as he wanted to experience a Jets game at Henson, it was late in the season and Newtown were out of the running for the finals, it wasn’t the beer and food festival but there were a few beer tents on the hill just selling standard beers, it was a good crowd but my mate couldn’t understand why people there were more interested in catching up and walking their dogs or letting their dogs run around on the hill instead of watching the football, I just said it is a beautiful sunny day and welcome to inner west, The Newtown games are more a social event

Been to the Shute Shield at Sydney Uni for the last two years when the Students have played the Easts Beasts, Uni have a passionate fan base but it is also about socialising with good beer, food available and also a meat raffle, fun day out and a bit like Henson but without the hill.

No wonder our education standards are slipping with this breed teaching our next generation

What Newton does seem to do well is make events of games and appeal that its about more than just the footy, its an event. I go to games largely to catch up with family and friends and whilst the game is the main drawcard, having attractions to catch up socially, such as good bars and eating options does make it more enjoyable. Those big concrete stadiums need a more relaxed and vibrant feel so we don't feel like sheep being herded to our seats. Show us you actually want us to be there.
