Alright, something just doesn't seem right about that stadium. The top tiers always look completely empty, how can it be 18,000 in a 30,000 seater when there were no visible people in the top section?

''how can it be 18,000 in a 30,000 seater when there were no visible people in the top section?''

A Manly fans questioning Eels crowds.

hahaha you could not get that crowd on your best day.

Get rid of Thursday night game and Friday 6pm game (unless it is always a NZ game) and to compensate TV networks have quarter time breaks.

2 poor performances in a row from Parramatta, i hope it doesn't affect the last home game crowd, it was starting to look like a sell out, we will have to see how they play next week up in Brisbane.

Memo to the moron doing the nrl draw 2020

Parra can probably average 25k at home if u don't f**k it up

And u can prove a massive point to the world..

If the draw was purely based around maximising attendances you would focus on ensuring you give only good timeslots to:
  • Parramatta
  • Broncos
  • Newcastle
  • Melbourne
With then the Bulldogs, Rabbitohs, Wests Tigers, Warriors and Cowboys (only because they're getting a new Stadium) the next group you try and look after.

If you get it right for that first group, you will have Melbourne over 20K, Newcastle & Parramatta pushing 25K and Brisbane over 30K.

You then hope from Sydney that either the Bulldogs or Tigers have a good year, so their crowds come out in force again (both have shown they can hit 20K+ averages in good years), that the Cowboys crowds want to check out the new Stadium, Rabbitohs members turn up when they're at somewhere other than ANZ and the Warriors are back in the mix for the 8.

For the rest:
  • Canberra surprisingly seems pretty immune to the impact of most time-slots relative to other teams, so not sure you need to go out of your way to give them premium spots.
  • Cronulla has only ever averaged over 15K once in their history, so will always drag down the average
  • Titans, whilst their is potential in the region it is unlikely to change much in 2020.
  • Manly, you have to go back to 1999 when they last averaged over 16K, and back to 2011 for even 15K, so again they'll be a bit like the Sharks, below the bar.
  • Penrith, have potential, but have been under the 15K mark since 2005, despite having some decent teams in that period.
  • Dragons, whilst they have a large supporter base, unfortunately whilst Mary is still coaching, the fans are going to stay away.
  • Roosters, have always shown that they will turn up in large numbers for event games, but in-between they can go missing. With them still without a home and the Dragons hosting ANZAC Day, not sure if 2020 would be the year to prioritise them.
Now that's if the draw was purely crowd focused and trying to guarantee a decent YoY improvement in 2020. We all know that is unlikely to happen, especially as Nine likes matches involving the bigger teams on Thursday, and Fox always has interesting requests.

Bless Yakstorms post. Should be on every page.

~~~
Canberra ticket sales seem be to tracking a bit less than the Roosters game. However the weather is better this weekend than that game. Still think we’ll see about 18,000.
Paid $100 to sit on the 30m line eastern side for the NQ game rd 2 this year.
That's ridiculous! I'm getting the feeling that some clubs and administrators don't want to see a full house. $100 ticket!, ? $40 may be fair?!
Takes a Westie to be that thick, the question was directed at how many people fit in the top tiers, because outside of the first two games there that section always looks empty, yet it doesn't change the numbers. Back in line for your dole cheque.
