2019 Crowd Watch

I remember Clive Palmer locking fans out of a Gold Coast United game because he didn't want to pay the full fare for the stadium. He capped the crowd at 2,500 or something so they didn't have to open all the stands. Not sure if that's how all the grounds structure their deals though.

Anyway. They might lose money doing what you said anyway.

9,500 x $30= $285,000

14,000 x $15= $210,000.

That's a "two for one" example.

That's if you can convince the extra 4,500 to turn up, which you probably can't because they are busy anyway.

These are all just made up figures for an example. Obviously you'd still be getting some people paying full prices for better seats etc. Also, members are already committed... but I'd imagine the real maths would work out with a loss too.

f**k losing more money.

A $5 or $10 mate offer for members loses nothing. Someone just mentioned you could take someone for free! Seriously? Free entry and we still can’t crack 10k people?

Bradman stand is for roosters members. I was sitting there.

In context do you think that is a worse effort than dragons/south's?

On par. Anything 10k or less we should be frustrated about. There’s reasons. But god it’s a bad look for a game that wants to be taken seriously as the major football code in Australia. I’m staggered the nrl are so apathetic about it.

The money is in the TV. Crowds are "extra". Nurture them right and you get growth centres supporting NRL and NRL teams and get the teams stronger.

Fish where the fish are.

Only partly true, the easy money is in the tv. Clubs who’ve built decent fanbases earn more from game day and their fan base than the tv grant. It’s onLY100% true for the nrl, for clubs they could be making a lot more from fans than tv if they tried, or the games structure allowed.

I think they tried with Top 8 v Top 8 clashes

But fans are just not interested in going to a midweek game

Be it ThNF or MNF(non long weekend) or the old Midweek Cup. They have all been poor crowd drawing games

Love to know how many 20k plus crowds we ever had
