Melbourne have not opened both sideline stands yet. Indicates less than 20k.

They also sold 319 tickets for $1 yesterday after the announcement of the Billy Slater stand. They probably wouldn’t have done that if the presales were going well. Needed to be a Friday.

A few angry fans who prepurchased on their Facebook too...

... They don't normally open all their stands? Weird. Like I would understand not opening the top half of the Western, but not at all?

Forget the family factor. I'm not paying $55 + booking fee to sit in the corner of the in-goal area at the SCG.

$30 for a decent seat and I'd be there.

The rivalry factor and Round 1 is the only reason this game will be a great crowd.

But beyond this match the Roosters will have some atrocious crowd numbers at the SCG for the reasons you state.

Warriors are looking pretty good judging off what's available. Them and Newcastle might depend on how many season ticket holders turn up.

Pricing of tickets seem to be a recurrent theme for concern affecting attendances for the approaching round. It will be intriguing to find out what the cheapest tickets are priced at for each game. I suggest the Knights game would be reasonable if a membership package is bought.( *6 games for $120 GA is good ) Wondering if their is similar value to such games elsewhere in the NRL ?

Even the Rugby drew poorly. Good viewing/pricing is a must. SCG has neither
The Waratahs and reds played there last year and drew even worse from memory. I agree that those factors come into it but I still reckon the two blockbuster matches will draw fine. The other matches there are a concern though.

Storm v Broncos 20k
Knights v Sharks 24k
Roosters v Rabbits 28k
Warriors v Bulldogs 22k
Tigers v Manly 18k
Cowboys v Dragons 18k
Panthers v Eels 21k
Titans v Raiders 14k

Edit: with the rain coming for Sydney, might as well halve their crowds.

The union drew a good crowd considering the product on field. Twent years ago, union was drawing the same and it still deserves to draw the same or less!
Unless tickets are reasonably priced the NRL will struggle to fill this stadium due to live viewing issues.

Reserved seats, yes.

GA is $35

Outrageously high. We might get away with it for this fixture and ANZAC Day but those prices need to be drastically lowered for the other games.

$20 to $25 GA if they are fair minded! In fact 2 for 1 deals for $30 if they are serious about attracting a decent crowd !

They need to go further than that against the likes of the Titans, Warriors and knights.

All 3 of those are day games so kids should be free, $10GA and $25 CAT 2.

They won't and the crowds will be horrendous.
