Sam Thiaday has just tipped us to get the spoon this year. I guess he thinks the sex tape stuff will affect our on field performance.

Obviously I don't post her often, and I'm not going to pretend I'm as knowledgeable about League or the club as a lot, if not all, than all of you.

I think we can win the premiership this year. I hope that the team quietly thinks it can as well, as that'll affect how they conduct themselves during the games and in training.

Personally, I'm glad that Ivan Cleary is back. Not primarily because I have a problem with Griffin, but because I don't think Cleary should've been done over in the first place.

Despite being a club legend. It's not often you get a reprieve from making an error that effects the make up of the football department. But I hope Gus recognisees this and stfu and stays out of the way now from the footy team, and just does his best in the media to relive any impending pressure on the team whenever it occurs. .

Hopefully Liam Martin really kills it at second row. I think he was named 19th man so it seems like Ivan rates him. And holy shit Jed Cartwright's playing at centre even putting on some kilos and being almost 200cms. Feel sorry for the centre and half defending against him.

Curious to see how the team's attack evolves with Edwards in the 1. He isn't a slick player like Moylan who will finish off an attacking set. His support play his excellent however, I think offloads should be our go.

The forum is extraordinarily quiet so early into the season?

I get the feeling the general mood amongst the more regular posters on here is one of pessimism about our chances this season.

I know it’s only one game but the performances against the Eels, including the trial loss, has probably highlighted a number of fears held by many on here?

A few of my concerns include our lack of strike power in the outside backs, can Josh Mansour get back to anywhere near his best, is Nathan Cleary capable of the improvement necessary to make him a genuine playmaker, RCG needs to lift considerably given we are one top class front rower short in our roster. There are no doubt other issues and it is quite possible we could be facing a 0-3 start to 2019 given two very tough games ahead?

I expected to beat the Eels on Sunday despite the trial loss and it was a wake up call.

I'm a little deflated that we finally got rid of Griffin, and then we went back to a bloke we sacked right before him and gave him a FIVE year contract. Makes zero sense to me. I'm happy to be proven wrong, but until then, there is just this sense of "Why?" attached to everything.

You may well be proven right and if you are right we won’t have to wait five years to find out.

From the masked panther on western weekender https://westernweekender.com.au/2019/03/masked-panther-panthers-concerned-about-top-forward/

I’m told the Panthers are keeping a very strong eye on Reagan Campbell-Gillard. Officials weren’t happy with how he finished the season last year and are hoping for much improved performances this season. Unfortunately he failed to fire in the round 1 clash against Parramatta, again raising a few eyebrows given his expensive, long-term contract. Hopefully RCG finds the form that saw him selected for New South Wales last year.

Pretty much yep. I wasn't confident we could be do more than scrap into the 8. Ordinary coach, Holes in the roster etc...Trials and round 1 did nothing to change my thoughts and as such season is hard to get excited
