Why the f**k did that take so long.

Because they were trying to determine if Wighton was intentionally trying to kick the ball or if it was by accident. If Rugby League commentators could actually learn the damn rules they could have explained that to the audience.

If you drop the ball but then intentionally try and kick the ball = play on.

If you drop the ball and kick it with the stride from your run = knock on.
