Im not even a Raiders supporter but I don't get what is so confusing for some people in here

  • Regardless of whether it was the right or wrong call, a call was made

  • That call was to play on, with another 6

  • Raiders then did play on, under the assumption it was 6 again

  • Refs then changed their mind during play, which is very different to in between plays like we are used to seeing

  • The rulebook states that the refs first decision is final and cannot be changed - this rule obviously isn't being followed and either needs to be better enforced or reviewed.
We also need to crack down on trainers like the AFL has done recently, they should only be allowed on the field while the clock is off or under the orders of a doctor when there is an injury. give them X amount of time to vacate the field after play has re-commenced. Failure to follow this should see the trainers team penalised. If a player desperately needs water during play they will have to leave to field to do so, or wait for a stop in play.

The worst call of the night isn't the 6 again call, it was the 3rd minute call involving the trainer, the Raiders almost certainly score if not set up camp in the Roosters half, instead the Roosters get the ball back and score moments later

Should have been a penalty to the roosters for mine. Attacking the kickers legs.

Literally the first post i made after the game was giving the roosters a wrap for their defense. I have nothing against your club. Its the gold standard.

But obviously we are going to be annoyed at the refs. Whats weird is roosters fans getting annoyed at us being annoyed

Nah mate, it’s more the ‘neutrals’ (as if they genuinely give a shit) we’re sticking it to. I’m just stoked we went back to back. Now that it’s done, I hope you win it next year.

Cummins should probably never get a finals or a big regular game again after that. Absolutely pathetic refereeing, and the embarrassing attempts to defend it from Danish are hilarious. Instead of enjoying back to back Premierships he's in here having a sook that we're not all blowing our load over the mighty Roosters. Gosh what a little bitch.

That being said... Raiders don't have anyone to blame but themselves. You gotta keep your heads in the game after terrible calls. Knights trojan horse Tapine deadset gave the Roosters their first 8 points. BJ's situation wasn't a sitter but he certainly could have done better. Roosters defence was outstanding and unfortunately the Raiders stuffed the few opportunities they did have.

The trainer debacle is hopefully something that gets changed next year but don't trust the NRL to do so. Firstly the trainer shouldn't have even been on the field, secondly why should the Roosters get the ball back when it was their trainer getting in the way.

Yep the rule

Changing decision 9. The Referee judges on matters of fact and shall not subsequently alter those judgments. He may cancel any decision made if prior foul play of which he had no knowledge is reported to him by a Touch Judge.

The NRL interpretations allows the bunker to overturn decisions after reviewing a replay.

Restarts In the event of the Review Officials reviewing a replay prior to the completion of a goal line drop out, or 20 metre optional kick being taken and there is sufficient evidence to overturn the original on field decision, the Review Officials will instruct the Referee to recommence the game with the correct restart

Changing a decision on the run is not allowed in any rule book.
So the end result should have been that the referees f**ked up causing something to happen outside of the normal laws of the game that wasn't the fault of either team, therefore scrum with the feed going to the attacking team.

Just like what happened earlier in the game except that was the Roosters fault because it was their trainer that got involved after being on the field for some reason after only three minutes.

A fan base carrying on like pork chops about a CORRECT decision being made. A fan base who happily took 2 definitively wrong calls in their favour in week 1. A fan base who are just losing their f**king minds crying foul over, once again, a CORRECT decision not to award them 6 more tackles as though it cost them the grand final, despite having plenty of calls in their favour on the night as well.

I'm more than happy to revel in the tears of people calling my club cheats. They can get f**ked
leave the Roosters alone!!11

I have no problem with Cronk being sin binned. It may have been "touch and go" but on that score they've been consistent. Penalty try? Was enough doubt to say no in my opinion (and I was at the ground and had a very clear view of it) as there were still tacklers Papalli would have had to beat.

The trainer call in the first half? It was the correct ruling.

As to the 6 again call, I could not see it clearly at the ground and I just missed the replay of it on Fox Sports. That said Greg Alexander said in the Fox Sports call he thought the ball came off a raiders shoulder and not Tedesco.

Where the game was won/lost? Canberra's inability to score any points beyond the penalty goal when Cronk was in the sin bin. I thought their attack in the last 25-30 minutes became predictable andd they didn't create much.

Another question that needs to be asked:

Who needed a trainers attention after less than 3 minutes of play while they were the attacking team??
Why was he even there in the first place!?

You were so confident despite being completely wrong. Never post again about any ref decisions as you clearly do not know the rules.

The refs can and do change their minds every week.

You keep telling yourself that was the decision that cost the raiders. Fact is they couldn't score despite all the possession against 12 men in thec2nd half.

That wasn't the refs fault, that was inept attack.

Cronk's sin bin was fine. The initial question by Sutton about checking for a possible penalty try was insane, but hardly matters. Cronk got his timing wrong and as such got binned.

It still makes me chuckle that making an ultimately correct decision is apparently the biggest controversy and dudding in GF history. Had the 6 again been allowed to incorrectly stand, and the raiders scored off the ensuing set, would the same people be crying foul?

Roosters fans should be f**king embarrassed to win like that.

There’s no glory in what happened tonight.
