Had no idea the Broncos had three variations of the teal design (the 98 one is straight up fugly).

That top left was only used in the 7s. And I THINK the reason behind it is Beenleigh Bulls- had a fair bit to do with/we’re broncos reserves (?) and this was their strip..

no mate, John Ribot had done a fair amount of research at the time on sports teams colours and the colours that resonated with kids at the time was aqua/teal and purple. You have to remember, the Charlotte Hornets, Anaheim Mighty Ducks and the San Jose Sharks were all hugely popular at the time in Oz, I reckon half the kids I went to high school with in western sydney had something (cap, pencil case, bag) of one of these teams. Those 2 colours featured prominently in those teams.

I remember him being interviewed at the time as to why those colours were chosen for the 1995 7’s jersey and that was his explanation after the research had been done.

Also explains why 3 years later the Storm ran out with purple in their colour set.

You sure that was Ribot? 95 was the height of the SL war, and I thought he was gone from the Broncos by then( my memory ain't great though)

i think the research would have been done during the early 90’s under his reign as CEO of brissy. I think he got the SL CEO gig in early 95 mate hey.

Perhaps, however there is a photo of Ben Walker in the Beenleigh clubhouse wearing that jersey ( playing for Beenleigh or Broncos juniors) before the Broncos wore it

I don't think the panthers jersey looks as good as first thought. I don't know what it is but maybe the coloured stripes are too high and too thin plus the bottom half needs to be lighter... Too much black

Not everyone. I much prefer this year's design over the original, which clearly has nostalgia value but isn't as practical for jerseys today. The biggest issue to me is that the sleeve stripes are much thinner than on the body.

I feel like the importance of yellow is overstated by some Storm fans - my preference is for it to be used as a trim or accent colour only. However, for a training or captains run jersey the yellow is perfectly fine.

Looks as though they're using the tightened text version so the word Premiership doesn't spread far beyond the shield, similar to the jersey application
