MATCH REPORT - Rabbitohs v Panthers

Panthers' resurgence claims Bunnies scalp

South Sydney Rabbitohs v Penrith Panthers

Penrith have recorded their 4th win in as many games to keep themselves in touch with the top 8, as they defeated Souths by 1 point in greasy conditions, 19-18 at ANZ Stadium.

James Maloney played like he was auditioning for a Blues jumper as he kicked the match-winning field goal from an awkward position to give Penrith a 19-18 victory over an understrength Souths sides.

2nd time in 14 rounds Souffs have lost a penalty count, and second time in 14 rounds Panthers have won one. Hence the squealing from the toothless.

what a dope........rather than focus on COUNT , why not focus on reasonability of the penalties given. that is what matters. For mine , Panthers got some lucky calls , that won them the game and Souths got some bad calls that cost them the game. The count had nothing to do with it ......it was the QUALITY and timing of some decisions.

Souths 2nd try anyone. Knock on. Cummins didn't go to the bunker. Souffs players sleeping in the ruck all night. Played a spoiling game and got away with it.

I agree with you. We got the calls. But you got 'em last time and have been getting them all season.

You must've known it wouldn't last forever.

I note the coach was much more gracious in defeat. He knows he's had a pretty good run with the whistleblowers.

Yes , WB was gracious in defeat , that is why he an esteemed coach and earns a lot more than all of us from this game.Talking about ref decisions , changes nothing for him and only likely to earn him a fine. As to "what he knows" , well I am pretty sure YOU have no idea what he knows.

for mine , souths win penalty counts ( I hate counting) , because other teams try to slow down Souths momentum and big forwards in the play the ball and with offside play. Of course that will result in more penalties to Souths . that is why folks who play the "count" game and ignore why the penalties we're given and justification are waste of space.

LOL@Souffs all blaming the officials for the loss when they've benefited for most of the year. Also complaining about missing players and us getting lucky, obviously not aware that Penrith has had a major overhaul in the outside backs due to injury and DWZ being moved on and we lack pace and tryscoring ability but you still couldn't outscore us with much better attackers like Gagai, Roberts, Graham, Walker, Johnston etc etc... but don't go into panic mode just yet, you'll be fine once the rep season is out of the way and most likely finish top 4 again, but the complaining about refs is a bit rich coming from you.
