Great that there is competition, hopefully the bidding will drive up the rights by a fair bit, and it could also lead to an extra free-to-air game for the fans, even if 10 doesn't out bid 9 (I doubt nine would give up its NRL rights easily), we could end up with both networks airing games

Maybe 10 can essentially fund 2 new expansion teams and in return have exclusive rights to the extra game created

It's almost embarassing how the AFL constantly refer to their training run like game as "Big Footy"! I'll show you Big footy when a Jason Taumalolo and the like runs at you full pelt and you are required to tackle them! See if the "Big Footy" dudes can pump up their chest with that task!?

I can't post on bigfooty due to being banned but if you or any other poster on here, if they are a member could post this on bigfooty they would be in meltdown
Think they’ve got their own topics where they’d post this mate. I tend to avoid posting on forums of other codes. As for the nrl ratings. No Kayo in the data so the shortfall this year is made up there. We really do need to get away from channel 9 though.

Unfortunately I was laid up in Hospital over the past 6 days from Tuesday up in St John Of God Midland in Perth if that's the best NRL coverage 9 can come up with on NRL Jeasusss
A opinionated pack of clowns led by the Rorters lover Christ FOXTEL run rings around it If Ten is sniffing around it may get interesting
It was like Chalk & Cheese

Crowds down, tv audiences down. Is Greenberg on performance related pay?

Perhaps being half on what Smith was getting has something to do with it.
I'm sure Greenberg was helped by the performances of the Broncos,Dragons,Panthers ,Cowboys and Titans. But of course we know when teams are crap, people flock to them in droves at the stadiums and on TV.
Plus Greenberg was helped by that professional ,entertaining ch9 commentary team of brilliant TV people.
Did Perth help with any of the Tv ratings? You know the city that is craving for an NRL team. And of course Melbourne .Just a thought.

I seem to recall last years being a good year for ratings, The NRL bucked the trend some what. AFL on the other hand had a horror year for ratings. So this year we have recorded slightly less ratings than last year (despite the Ashes and crickets wold cup and all the streaming that's taking place. Financially we bagged a surplus of almost 50m. We have assets and money in the bank. Wow, way to go Tod/ARL.

And we did all this despite POOR CROWD FIGURES.

PS. The crowd numbers aren't that bad,per head there in line with the rest of the world.

As long as if they cut a team it might be the Sharks, but send them to Brisbane they deserve each other Watching as is my want NRL 360 & observing the antics of the 3 media buffoons, these clowns are still carrying one about Smith,There was an AFL player had up for far worse but in WA it got a quick run & AFAIK vanished into the air
Rugby Leagues WORST enemy's are the Murdoch Media I sometimes wonder why Murdoch threw all that money at AFL, Kent annoys me no end I battle to get through 360 for fear of throwing a brick at the TV I wont mention the other members 1 from QLD & 1 old grey haired bloke who seems to have a thing/Problem/obsession with the Storm
But as for the Rorters & the free pass given to Hargreaves I thought they wanted to protect players the NRL need to sack the tribunal or whatever they call them & start again If you hit another player around the head OFF you should go & get a month to think about it
When I played players had legs you tackle them Shoulders, head is just dross
