Asquith have lost Treymaine Brown who has been offered a QLD Cup contract with Central Queensland Capras for the rest of 2019.

Good to see a club letting a player leave to further his career. Shame all clubs don't have the same philosophy

Thats why Weisner and his staff at Asquith are well respected. Thats why players followed him when he left Blacktown. The culture he has created at Asquith is fantastic.

Trey is only young. Good opportunity for him and one he couldn't pass up.

St Marys 36 Mounties 4

Both sides did it tough last week with St Marys coming up against the Asquith brick wall and Mounties scraping home against Hills after a scoreless first half but today St Marys bounced back to form with the inclusion of Kurt Falls and the Tsikrikis brothers. Lazarus Brown is back in the RMC after a month in Newcastle, making his debut for Mounties against his old club.

A converted try to Dylan Fuad 10 minutes from time secured the points for St Marys as Ryde Eastwood continued its strong first season in SS. Fuad formed a very strong front with Shannan Wood and Henry Seumanu for a St Marys side that now sits in 2nd place as East Campbelltown have stumbled with 3 losses in 5 games. It had been intended that ECE's newest signing, Raphael Cousin from Toulouse Olympic Broncos would start in the club's U/23's but a late change allowed a SS debut last week against Moorebank after the conference comps were cancelled due to the weather.

Meanwhile Cabra continue to look unbeatable in SS. Despite 12 changes to the team that beat Uni by 40, they easily put away Wenty and should run up a good total against Brothers tomorrow.

I'm hearing Glebe Burwood are trying to fit an ex international into their side. If it's to happen they are going to have to offload players who have high ppi points.

Mounties seem to ease the long serving players out in this manner - Tere Glassie was a trainer at the start of last season, played for the A grade feeder and got 1 RMC game in the middle of the season, and Shannon Chapman has followed a similar path. But as you say, very strange that they didn't pull some back.

Asquith has now conceded only 28 points in the last 5 games and are establishing a strong challenge to Wenty's favouritism. At the other end of the table, Blacktown joined Glebe Burwood on 2 wins. These 2 sides along with Hills and Brothers on 3 wins will fight out the wooden spoon. Ironically one of those sides will also be in the finals.

University secured their 3rd win and Belrose put in a performance that suggests they might avoid the wooden spoon. The top 4 all won.

They have always been know to be a club that can pay better then most clubs. And have had the experienced ex first graders to show for it. Where they have went wrong is , for some reason the young players in the squad have not picked up the experience from playing along side them. They should have a good core of loyal bull players that have been in and around the squad that are battle hard and professional from these experienced players

Couldn’t agree more. Then it’s shows during the seasons that the other blokes can’t handle that level of competition.
