Nou Camp clash to go ahead

Wigan’s trip to Barcelona’s Nou Camp stadium could be confirmed as early as this week, with the Warriors’ proposed clash with the Catalans Dragons in Spain set to become a reality, report League Express.

League Express understands the final formalities are being put in place to stage the winners of the Grand Final and winners of the Challenge Cup final at the near 100,000 capacity home of FC Barcelona next year. The game is currently scheduled to take place on May 18. Both clubs and the RFL are keen to make the event come to fruition.

How many seats will RL be able to fill at the Nou Camp? There would probably need to be a stack of neautrals travel to the game. Would this venue work better as a magic weekend?

Wigan traditionally have a great away following, so I can see us taking a couple thousand over there, if it's confirmed I'm definitely going to try and book the time off work for it.

Steeden balls back in 2019

The Steeden rugby balls will return to Super League from the 2019 season, Love Rugby League understands.

The Rhino rugby balls were introduced to Super League ahead of the 2013 campaign and have been used ever since, but they have come under heavy criticism by players, coaches and fans due to its slippery grip.

The NRL have still been using Steeden though and a lot of English-based fans have been jealous in recent years. The Steeden ball will return in 2019.

We have combined a Celtic XIII which could possibly play against England in a mid-season Test in 2019.

In our recent article on how a potential Exiles side could look for 2019, we had a number of tweets back suggesting that a combined Celtic team should play England instead.

Nope. Sorry. Fu@k all the exiles and war of the roses and RL 9’s suggestions.

Let’s play real nations and not made up ones.

Yes! France, sort your sh!t out, stop being scared and play England with your best team every year mid-season otherwise, if you are not interested then don't take up spots in SL giving everyone the false belief that one day you will provide TV money and a competitive national side for the game.

France, and to an extent Ireland, Scotland and Wales, should be a focal point for the European Federation (if one exists) to grow the international game, given how it's booming in the Pacific currently.

England playing a mid-season or end of year test against France would seem a no-brainer, with the other home nations contesting a tri-series. Not sure of any other European sides who would be suitable to challenge them, perhaps Italy?

France v England is a must, but surprisingly it is France, not England that are reluctant. When will France take the game seriously? They should be part of a big 4 by now with a TV deal similar to what the NRL get from the Warriors presence in NZ and that pays the way of Catalans, Toulouse and funds a semi-pro league in France.

I’ve long given up on French RL. They have everything going for them to be the 4th strongest RL playing nation yet they just don’t seem to be kicking on.
